The Purge
Saw it last night (dont ask me how :winkwink:). Movie had typical hollywood shit snarky teenagers who fuck everything up, moral dilemma (black guy is the one the son lets in lol). But the movie made me wonder: what if all crime was legal for 12 hours, what would you do? Would it make the world a better place?

Wasn't a bad movie. Better than this mainstream crap.

Lot of people hating on it but I liked it and it does make you think, "what if the purge was a real event?"

I'd most likely do fuck all. I don't do most crimes because of the way it'd make me feel afterwards, not just because there is a law against it/them. Other 'crimes' I 'commit' because they are there solely to bring in cash for the government, and I have zero bad feelings about either during, or after.
Saying that, robbing a bank would sure make things less rough than they are now :) |
robbery :1orglaugh every casino i could make it to vans full of cash

I just can't get past that premise. It's fucking stupid. It's less believable than an alien who flies around Earth wearing a red and blue spandex suit and cape.
Does anyone really wish they could take part in this? It would probably be a good test to weed out the psychopaths from our population. |

if the crime was legal, I would sneak into my neighbor's house and replace the sugar in the sugar bowl with salt... Fuck the police!

During the movie it was said that its a good way to get rid of "non contributing society members" but I do not see it that way in reality. In reality all the criminals and gangsters would kill more quality people than the other way around. Simply because:
1. Poor and criminals, and gangsters have more anger towards quality people 2. Criminals have more experience killing people and are used to doing crimes, its easier for them to purge. Quality people would be more reluctant. I simply can not see this working in a good way.. |

Spoilers:
Couple very stupid things: 1. Why didn't they untie the prisoner so that he would help fight intruders? Really stupid. 2. When most of intruders were killed, they went for a "family hug" without knowing if they killed all the intruders.. Serious WTF moment. And of course traditional political correct - black man turns out to be a hero theme... One more thing - they should have extended story into real life after that purge, like how they interact afterwards or, lets say, some story when they try to track down certain purger for revenge or whatever. That could have been more interesting. |
