Where in America can you buy a 2bed/2bath condo for under $150k?

and no snow. and reasonably nice, i.e., not a ghetto.
So far the business people I've met here aren't that thrilled with my business and so Im just starting to consider my next move in the year.
Im thinking St Petersburgh area.

Anywhere in Florida, Daytona, St Pete, Melbourne, West Palm, hell you can even pick up a nice condo/home in Jacksonville/Ponte Vedra Beach for that.

Imortyl Pussycat 07-10-2013 06:21 PM

i'm in Cali and recently a lot of locals have migrated to Texas to escape the taxes and high cost of living here. a friend just moved to a city outside Dallas, TX that is not in the tornado zone and will get a little snow fall but none that sticks according to her. you can get an entire house for your budget there. it is hot as fuck at the moment though.

Most Daytona condos are right across the street from slums or what I would call poor lower middle class neighborhoods. Lots of ugly hookers too. Go to a stripclub called sharkies on the strip and you will be offered a blowjob for $50-100 within 5 minutes from an average looking to fairly attractive dancer. %75 of the girls that work their do blowjobs in the vip.

You mean Shark Lounge, yeah it sucks LOL

I was actually more referring to the Ormond area of Daytona, off the A1A strip where, like you say, its just pure ghetto where the city has just let it go to ruin.

My sister just bought a 2BR/2BA condo for well under your limit, Ft. Myers, Gulf Coast of Florida and yup, there are deals all over FLA, you can get a SFH for your price in FLA. She didn't want an SFH, she doesn't want the maintenance headache. Vegas and Phoenix would probably have same deals for condos.

Oh yeah, don't forget, FLA and NV have no state income tax...

ya, certain parts are worse than others and sometimes that hot hooker really is a hooker and not a cop.

I was there in 08 seems the previous 2 years were hooker/stripper heaven. Was lots of craigslist hookers around when I was there but I never messed with that.

NaughtyRob 07-10-2013 07:25 PM

Vegas. Shit you could buy a 4 bedroom house here for less.

Rochard 07-10-2013 07:46 PM

I bought a condo here in Lincoln California for $55 a few years back at the height of the recession. Model home, three bedrooms, nice...

clickhappy 07-10-2013 11:51 PM

Thanks all! I think Florida is good, I love the weather too. I dont want a house though, I like living in a condo.

Good glad its not just me that feels this. I know already I wont be able to afford a house in Norcal. Crappy entry level condos start at like $370's in my city. Plus my insurance went way up when I moved here, and gas prices, plus state tax. Ill stay here for a short while to try to get my business going but I wont be able to buy a place to live and plant roots here.

Supz 07-11-2013 12:02 AM

South Florida. Ft Lauderdale, Boca Raton, Delray Beach, etc..

just a punk 07-11-2013 01:01 AM

I really envy your prices, guys.

Texas? taxes? isnt property tax in Texas something like 3% of purchace price per year?

PornDiscounts-V 07-11-2013 02:43 AM

All over the Fucking place.

fuzebox 07-11-2013 04:41 AM

Another vote for Florida. For a SFH, there's a ton in Vegas under $150k, and the maintenance isn't bad because no one really has much of a yard anyway, and if you do it's usually concrete or gravel with a cactus.

Lykos 07-11-2013 06:59 AM

Florida , Vegas as far as i know...

yeah, indeed

if could buy something decent for that price here, i would have done it already

bronco67 07-11-2013 07:42 AM

I just helped my mom move into a rental in Richmond VA, and I was shocked at the low rental price of a pretty nice condo in that area. I'd guess the buy price would be in the 150k range.

our income taxes, sales tax and gas prices are far worse

pornguy 07-11-2013 12:35 PM

Just recently this country got rid of the car tax. 10% of the cost of the car per year for 10 years.

I'm not on Rublevka too, but the price of my modest apartments here is twice higher than the one mentioned by OP :2 cents:

candyflip 08-01-2013 04:56 AM

Where I live, $150k will build you a brand new 3-4 bedroom, 2-2 1/2 bath home in the suburbs...in New York.

Not true. There are plenty of areas of South and Central Florida that are totally decent, not ghettos, where you can find those prices.

We just got a 2k sq. ft. Vegas 4 bdrm, gated for $130k and will be renting it out soon. There's still bargains out there.

Saint George is our next target... if you like the quiet, central, rustic mountain setting, with tons of nature nearby.
