How much would you pay for your real name .com?
What's the limit you'd pay if someone has your real name, but has it parked but also willing to sell? Ex: JohnDoe.com. Is $70 too much? I'm speaking for .com in particular.

$500 for my surname .com
|
my surname .com was for sale some time ago for 1 million dollars... but some time ago i saw western union using it. not sure how much they payed for it :D
|
my very first domain. then i gave up when i was trying to decide between 'me' or 'thegreatfantastical' regarding an email address
so, about $5 |
After seeing this I got curious and typed in my last name .com. Was a site selling email accounts for $35 per year.

I bought my name when I was 14. Then I let it expire. Three years later I went to purchase it again, thankfully nobody had it. Though realistically I would pay quite a bit for my name, it's somewhat unique though and I only know of one other person with it.
|
what did you end up doing with it
|
nothing, never
|
I already own my name. Plus I own my surname and my middle name - but NOT my first name :( DAMMIT!
You be me for awhile... And I'll just get drunk and not give a shit. Paul Westerberg should just repeatedly stick a knife in hs face. This fucking heroin addict walks on a drum kit in this video - yet he moans about having too many guitars on one of the greastest American Rock and Roll albums of all time. If he wasn't so fucking wasted and incoherent, maybe his input woud have been deemed relevant. What a sell-out pussy failure. He could have been relevant. Goop! Echo and STUFF! If he was sober he could have controlled all that - but he wasn't, and all we are left with is the only great album he ever released. I kick him for being so dull. |

i actually own my full name .com |
Why is Bill Wyman playing the drums? So confused...
|
Most of mine in variations are taken by a poets estate I own all other extensions for lastname. I don't care for full name. I prefer first@lastname over first@firstlast

i eat cats

I have owned my name since 1998. I bought it originally because over the course of a few years I changed ISP's a few times and was sick of constantly changing my email address so I just got my name and used it as my email address. Since I have used it for a few other things. I have book I have written that hopefully will be out soon. I have an ebook that I will be selling soon and another writing project coming out this fall so I will be using it to promote and sell those as well.
|
I was excited when I bought it, paid for 10 years. Then let it expire.
|
I own my firstlastname.com but someone else owns my surname and it's not even being used... Not even a widely known name, last I saw a site on it, it was owned by some broadcasting company, now it's owned by what looks like some kid, I thought about offering money for it, but it's not that important to me.
|
I registered my name, my wife's name, and our family surname back around 1995, and more recently, registered my son's name when he was born, prepaying that one for 10 years.
Having your own name, and family names, registered has its benefits. |
I own my last name.com , I hope to keep it forever

I'd only get my surname for email.
[email protected] The URL is actually already registered, and they want $35 a year to do it. Yeah, no thanks. |
I have an unusual name so I was able to buy the perfect domain: myfirstname.com
The good thing is that my first name has only 7 characters :-) If the domain was taken I would pay a premium for it. Let's say 1k or more. |
I wouldn't :pimp
|
Goddamn matchbox 20 :Oh crap

I own my full name .com too, but in my case its hardly worth more than registration fees lol. Except if I get very famous some time. :1orglaugh |

maybe you sell the movie rights for your book? :winkwink: |
Someone had mine so I just got the .net - I think .net makes more sense for a vanity email with your name really - That's what I am telling myself anyway...

Here's why I searched my own name. If I plan on getting serious about web development (I'm studying Ruby at the moment), it'd be good to have my own name as the domain. It seems a lot of well known web developers use their own name as their domain. Sometimes it's their whole name, other times just first or last. So it was something I looked into. |
Already own it.
I doubt I could get "MyLastName".com but I wouldn't need it really. |
my first, last, and combo firstlast .com are all available.. hmmm.

wow... I think I laughed way too hard at this. |
Having surname.com is quite important for email. My family and wife's family both own the respective .coms thanks to me and everyone has their own email. Very easy to say name John Doe, email [email protected]
Irrespective of thr supossed power status that comes with [email protected] (that for me has long disappeared), for me it's now far important to be in full control of spam management and email privacy than anything else. Also, I will never make any use of doe.com as a web address but that isn't to say my son, daughter, randsn/daughter, nephew, niece etc will not.... There's already a big multinational that wants my doe.com domain, but they will never get it. In any case doe.com is in the will and dealt with! --edit for frikken ipad autocorrect bllshit! |
I have my son's name registered.
I also have my street address to my house registered. This way I have all the electronic billing under [email protected] This came out of having a few houses. I was able to keep straight what was for where and when. |
I have an unfortunately common name, so there's no way in hell I'm getting first, last or full name any time soon. I've tried contacting on full name a couple times since it's not in use, but they've never responded.
|
There's at least 3 people in the world that share my first and last name. Just checked and none of us have bothered to register the .com (yet)
|
I'm not sure how much SI.com is worth.....
But I'd like to own it someday, even if just for the swimsuit edition pictures. |
Don't worry if your real name .com is already taken.
1. Find an unregistered domain that you can buy for $10 2. Change your name to that. (costs vary by state in USA, but in UK costs just £10) |
Sure OK, I'll take www.yourrealname.com - how much ya want fer it?
Is the chick with the backpack extry? |
I can get it for $10 right now.
|
is available. Snap it up before someone else does. Just ₱494.99*
Hmm, i'll pass. |
