Every single night

It's the same thing. I tell myself, "it's time to get to bed" then hours later I'm watching something on TV and accomplished 1/4 of what I should have... If that at all. Battery dies on my laptop, and I "just see" what else is on the boob tube.

After 6 or so hours of rough, sleep apnea depriving sleep, I struggle to get out of bed, shower, wash down a triple strength energy drink to start the day and think... "Why didn't I just go to be earlier?"

Well, here's to tomorrow!

Break the cycle by getting up earlier, stay up all day, go to bed early and get up early the next day.

Cycle broken :)

spend about half an hour or so before bed (no matter what time you go) not looking at a computer or tv screen. They are high in blue spectrum light which fucks with your melatonin production and uptake. Melatonin regulates sleep. You can also try melatonin suppliments.

It is called anxiety. When you wake up in the morning eat a tomato and chase it down with a v8.

If that doesn't help kick out your gf if she is living with you.

helenaBlue 07-17-2013 03:16 AM

kinda the same for me, except i dont watch boob tube, but time just slips away.. in the afternoon i decide to be super productive, and go to bed early.. it also happens in the morning, i cant wrap my head around how i spend 90 minutes every morning getting ready.. i cant recall what i do, and how i spend so much time

fuzebox 07-17-2013 03:43 AM

I burn a lot of time in the morning, it's hours before I can really be productive :(

dehash 07-17-2013 03:59 AM

I feel you pain. Why you just described my day?)

Ross 07-17-2013 05:39 AM

I may be stating the obvious here but, do you drink enough water throughout the day? Are you getting the right kinds of food and eating at the right times, there is a lot that goes into how well you sleep. Some good advice in this thread already but small changes in your diet and habits go a long long way.

L-Pink 07-17-2013 06:12 AM

You're not drinking enough.

pinkz 07-17-2013 06:24 AM

quit the energy drink for breakfast and eat something substantial instead

SpicyM 07-17-2013 07:04 AM

I get tired very quickly and have troubles focusing. I wake up and already feel tired.. so I understand you.

I normally drink 1 L of coffeee during the day trying to stay focused.

Any tips from GFY experts? :(

I'm a night owl, my kids get up at the crack of dawn.

If I get more than 4 hours a night, I am happy.

tried that, but then just end up falling asleep at 10pm, wake up at 2am and then can't get back to bed until 5am :1orglaugh:1orglaugh

Never thought about that. My wife complains how she can't sleep, but always has the TV on before she goes to bed and hours later when I come in, it's still on.

I've tried sleep aids, but the next day I feel like a zombie. I think its due to the sleep apnea and I have trouble keeping my CPAP mask on at night.

I've done that myself, sometimes I'll wake up early, then start messing around doing something and before I know it, its 10am and I haven't gotten anything done versus when I get up at 8:45 and getting to the office by 9:30

Or, if you have to use the computer, download an application called FLUX (http://justgetflux.com/) f.lux fixes this: it makes the color of your computer's display adapt to the time of day, warm at night and like sunlight during the day.

I disable it for color sensitive work, but otherwise it really helps my eye strain to be kept at a minimum.

That's called laziness or lack of self-motivation, maybe both. Time to find motivation and get the shit together. :thumbsup

Could be. I have a lot going on right now between home, friends and work... so needless to say, probably toughest time I've been in for a while.

Other problem is, my wife gets up at 5:30, makes noise and wakes me up. I try to get up around 8, but often times hitting snooze until 9

At the end of the day, I'd love to have the motivation to wake up at 7, go to the gym, get back and be at the office fully motivated by 9... eh, there's always tomorrow!

A good friend of mine just died at 37. Found out last night.
We only hung out in cabo because that is where he lived.
Before I found out last night I checked my blood pressure at cvs, it was sky high.
Checked again today, sky high.
Walked into patient care and got official test, sky high.
I'm not sure why I am saying this, other then I have trouble sleeping and anxiety. Now every blood pressure reading is suggesting hypertension.

Bourke 07-17-2013 11:27 PM

Beaner- have you looked into a paleo/ primal style diet? sorted a LOT of shit out for me. Can't recommend it highly enough. A lot of people I know have gotten on it after seeing how well it did for the wife and I and EVERYONE has had good results. Google 'Primal Blueprint'

John-ACWM 07-18-2013 07:55 AM
