Go-Karting with a GoPro cam

So lookin' forward to tomorrow - we've got permission from a local go-karting track to take the new GoPro (helmet mount) out for a spin in one of their karts.

Should be a blast.

Last weekend we took it down to a local waterfall and lagoon for some shots directly under the falls and underwater in the lagoon.

Hoping to find the time to edit some footage and get it up on YT soon.

Did you see the copter video of the Falls that went a little viral this past week?

Hadn't seen that - damn! Thanks for the link.

Quite remarkable footage - considering the wicked updrafts above the falls. I'm surprised he got such steady, controlled shots.

I can only imagine how much practicing he did before risking the gear.

Wonder if Homeland Security checked out the copter for contraband after the flight. :1orglaugh

Great video I get to get me one of them Go Pro

I think I wouldn't like to take a quad out there though I would be too scared of losing it.

He's using a Phantom quad - about double the price and quality of my cheaper AR Drone. They're much more stable and solid-built.

Still...a rather expensive thing to lose. But for footage like that...I guess you weigh the risks and go for broke.

The fact that you can make something like this for less than $1000 (copter and cam) is what is amazing to me.

Sounds like fun. I mostly use mine on my mountain bike, but I'm planning to do some kayaking videos soon.

Not yet. Downloaded it but haven't done the editting. The footage turned out amazing, though...smoother than I thought it'd be...given there's no shocks or suspension on the karts.
