Blog network diagram - SEO pros please advise
OK, so... creating a blog network. All of them on separate domains and unique class C IPs, all with different name details on registry, no affiliate codes shared. Nothing to let any search engine know they are all owned by me. Now, I interlink them to boost the juice, and link them all to the paysite. Here is my proposed diagram if I only had 8 blogs:
http://www.livelypro.com/blognetwork.jpg Basically blogs 1 & 2 would link to only blogs 3 & 4 and the paysite. Round and round it goes. But am I being too careful here? Should, perhaps, I link them back and forth more to increase inbound links on each blog? (By the way, I created the chart at lucidchart . com, it is pretty handy.) |
Sign up to Linkspun and get some real unique trades going.
Any 'SEO Pro' worth their salt is going to tell you to not try and game Google. Do you think Google doesn't know that people try this? Do you think Google doesn't know how to make sure shit like this doesn't make your site rank well? It's been done before, it has been taken care of. Make a network of 8 sites and sign them up to a few directories. Don't risk a lot of hard work on a linking system that is going to just fuck you in the ass in the long run. You might not like to hear it, but what you want to do is a bad idea, and it isn't going to make you money. Especially not with 8 blogs. Be smart, it's 2013. |
never fucking ever make a circle
only make pyramids |

You cannot recommend exuding an abundance of caution and immediately before suggest something so reckless. Also, Linkspun is pretty much dead... unless you're into a ton of pr0 and Alexa 12,000,000 trades. Anyway, all valid points about the other things. Many webmasters slip up in the smallest way possible, blowing their cover. Plus I wouldn't put it past Google to use their tracking to figure out which sites you visit the WP admin of. If you're going to be paranoid you have to be super paranoid. |

Arnox is mostly right. As well as Seth Manson. Don't use any loops. They should dead end. Better to have 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 all link in one direction and dead end at 8. BUT Arnox is right that you never know when even that trick will get caught, if it hasn't already been severely punished. So far this year, it seems as though the algorithm is putting less emphasis on link building, and being refined for context and relevance. Also penalizing anything porn-related. If you are doing a daisy chain of mainstream, you will have slightly better luck. Check out SEOMoz if you have not already done so. |

I value the advantages that come from Linkspun, I don't value the advantages that come from blog circles. I've done both, with Linkspun on three separate occasions, I've yet to have a horror story. You are right about the best policy being nothing, though. All I'm doing is making a few suggestions to someone that's new to the game. This guy probably doesn't have traffic or resources to get it: the best advice for him right now is Linkspun trading, not blog circles. |
you should be fine with a linkwheel, make sure you use as much anchor text as possible, add some free web2.0 blogs and drip-feed the links randomly and link out to other sites, like youtube, wikipedia or other authority domain

As far as linkspun, I think it's still worth it, you just have to sort you trades out carefully. Looks for sites that are updated and don't have many outgoing link, black crappy users, stay relevant. |
Baggg, holy shit, that is a pretty awesome link diagram you put together there. Thanks for the info, I just printed it for my notebook.
I notice you mostly are linking from 2.0 sites rather than hosted blogs. If this works, then seems much cheaper than paying for hosting in a lot of data centers and separate IPs. |
Why making it so complicated. use the star diagram. One way link to your website. On your blog, if you have links to other blogs, you lose this google juice because it is really not valuable.
If your blog has tags & get google juice from more dangerous incoming links that s cool. blogs are for me like firewall. |
Linkspun.com is far from dead.
What webmaster site do you have that adds 15 to 50 New users a day? |
two things to think about. The more random your inbounds the better you will be. And you want links from sites that have good link profiles pointing to them. a link from a new site that has no links pointing to it won't help much.

You guys are fucking up GFY with webmaster related threads.... ;-)
