Soft 404 errors - Any Programs to find these 404s ?
 

I have at least 2000 pages on one of my adult websites, images and links. Webmaster tools is stating that I have a "Increase in soft 404 errors".

I returned my 404 page back to it's original code due to Webmaster tools stating my custom 404 page (redirect link back to the sites homepage) was causing Google to penalize me ! - WTF !

Does anyone know of any 3rd party programs that can scan my pages and find these damn 404's ? -

Google webmaster tools gives you a list that it sees as soft 404's but now you have a custom 404 page just tick them as being fixed and eventually google will clean them out. If your pages are .php then that can create a whole new problem.
Forgot to say look under CRAWL ERRORS
