The Best Batch Resize Image Program
I need a SMALL FREE program that will resize images as far as SIZE in MB is concerned.
Example: I have 100 files that range from 5 MB - 12 MB. I need to change the size to 4.9 MB. |
You'll have to lower the resolution of the image to do that. Imagemagick can do this via the command line, or using PHP.
|
i dont think you can do it to exact size, but i may be wrong, with imagemagick you can do mogrify -resize 800x600 *.jpg for example
|
Sorry for being an idiot. Don't know much about this shit.
I have to resize them to 3000 x 3000 pixels while being under 6 MB. Also, looking for a windows / desktop application. |
not sure if it's free or not but you might look into Arles Image Web Page Creator. It's what I use to bulk reduce the size of images and I'm thinking it has settings that can compress the quality while leaving the physical size the same.

I think SBJ is right.
I just use photoshop. |
This will work indirectly, using dimensions or quality
Easy Thumbnails (Free) http://www.fookes.com/ezthumbs/ |
http://www.filehorse.com/download-fa...-image-viewer/ select files and press F3 (you can make templates...)
|
I use Batch Image Resizer from http://www.jklnsoft.com/ works pretty well.
|
superjpg! ye I still use It :)

Microsoft office 2003, 2007, 2010 or 2013 can do every image in a directory at one time for you. If you already have M$ Office installed you may as well take advantage of it.

Take a look at Photoscape - www.photoscape.org
Free - open source Aside from the batch resizing...it's a very good photo editor and has a lot more useful features. |

Try batchphoto http://www.batchphoto.com/
|
irfanview will do the job if you need something user friendly... If not, or if you're going to run on a *nix box, try imagemagick as suggested before

3000x3000 and under 6mb will be hard to do, and 3000x3000 exact some pics will look odd if they arent an even number, and if you are resizing them to that dimensions they will have to be bigger than 3000x3000, which i assume they are? or the quality will be terrible
