We are all Cyborgs now

Life has changed a lot in my lifetime. Dependency on cell phones is one thing, but newer technology does bring us closer together thru social media and well, just being to always reach out and touch someone from your circle of friends and family.

The whole "connecting people" thing is actually making people less social... :2 cents:

I think it's making us more social, just not in person.
If I post something on facebook, a lot of people will find out about it.

Exactly. I might not be face to face with people, but on daily basis I interact with more people online and in more fulfilling ways than I would ever have the chance to offline.

Or just the opposite?

Just by following what everyone is doing on Facebook our time is booked solid doing stuff with other people... Last Sunday was a great example - we had nothing to do and notice some friends were at the lake and they ended up inviting us over...

Yeah i get that.

But it's when you see people out and rather than enjoying the company they are in, you see people spend most the night with their attention on a phone screen all night.

I bet not many people could even think about leaving the house without their phone these days...

I think you are going to get that anyways, but if you send out an announcement to friends that you are going to have a party, you're going to reach more people, or that you are going to the local watering hole, people will read it and join you!

it wont be long that google glass will make all fat people look thin, all ugly people look beautiful. Add in some AI, & you wont even need other people. you can live in a bubble with your best friends being IFriends programmed into your IPad.
