Limited functionality. Threads created by a user on your ignore list still show up on the main page. Quoted posts are shown as well.

Super ignoring users would not result in a loss of ad revenue for the forum. The ads would still be visible, "less valuable" threads and posts from certain users would not.

As for lost sig revenue for the posters, they reap what they sow.
