I need to track down Cigar City, I keep hearing good things about them.

Current Favorite - 10.4% ABV! Love those double IPAs (or "Imperial" as the trend goes).

My favorite lately has been Drake's Denogginizer on tap at District 13 in Hollywood.

Shitty food but great rotating beers.

I can't drink IPA. Too hoppy.

I can [kind of] understand how one might not enjoy the in your face character of some of Southern California's West Coast IPA style, but the stuff east of the Rockies and north of San Francisco are usually balanced with malts and yeast that pretty much eliminate the hoppiness. IMO, anyway.

For example, Russian River Pliny the Younger is very mellow while Beachwood's Thrillseeker is definitely in your face and my favorite style.

Interesting. I'd love to test some of them somtime. Maybe when I'm out there next time.

Next time we are in the same city I will arrange a beer tasting. :thumbsup
