I think you need a step by step hosting plan.

I went through a hosting nightmare last week before someone recommended a really kick ass hosting company:

M3XS are some really great guys. They have VPS, managed and dedicated servers w/ good prices and great features and their support staff are top notch.

If you are looking for VPS my recommendation is to go with digitalocean.com if you are looking for dedicated server than go with leaseweb.com I use both and they are just 10/10 both have quality servers, good network, highly professional and their support are quick in answering. digitalocean.com VPS that i use now is actually netherland vps and their servers are also in same network as leaseweb servers.
