I live near there and heard all the cops & ambulances going to the scene. We also had an LAPD chopper circling for 1+ hour... that was very annoying.

Sharpton, Jackson, or Obama haven't chimed in on it yet. Give it time.

In fact, yes. This discussion usually comes up with firearms and gun control, but the same applies to cars.

Today I drove from LA to Sacramento, and the stupidity I saw is stunning. I saw guy in a huge GMC SUV drive in the fast lane doing 65, and when someone went around him the driver of the GMC went into the slow lane, passed this guy, and then cut him off. Seems the GMC driver didn't understand that he was doing 65 mph in the fast lane in a 70 mph zone. The GMC driver didn't seem to understand that he was a hazard, and instead decided to be a dick and cut someone off. What an ass.

Some people just don't deserve to drive cars. Hell, with my driving history I might just be one of them.

There always has been...always will be - utter morons behind the wheel.

But I'm not sure if its just my 50yr. old perception these days - but asshole drivers seem to be the norm rather than the exception. It used to be you'd see the occasional idiot do something stunningly stupid. But nowadays it just seems to be constant...everywhere you go.

And not to be sexist - but what the fuck is with young girls who tailgate? Even when I'm doing 10km/h over the speed limit...they climb right up on the bumper to the point you can't even see their front grill. And often times its a big SUV or minivan - with greater braking distance.

I chalk much of it up to very little cop presence on the roads these days - at least around here. And even when you see a cop - they rarely make a traffic stop. One cop I worked with a few summers ago says he won't even pull someone over for speeding unless they're doing more than 20km/h over the limit.
