The internet isn't the internet anymore, it's traffic is controlled by Google, which in any other industry would be classed as an illegal monopoly. The NSA and GCHQ monitor our every move which they wouldn't be able to do so easily in the real world. There are so many ridiculous restrictions being proposed (especially in the UK), all the precious ladies moaning about abuse on Twitter should spend a day or two here, or even go back to 2001 with DVtimes and his antics. I ask the question Internet Who ? and the answer is Peter Capaldi

Google is not a monopoly and Google does not control Internet traffic.

Internet traffic is routed through backbone providers, ISP peering exchanges and undersea cables which have nothing to do with Google.

Apart from those small details, the OP is completely accurate though.
