My cat died......damn!

For those who care.. my cat was killed by a car
the other night.

I was wondering where is orange ass was out
till today, went to the Humane Society and he was
there in their cooler..dead.

So, I took him to be cremated so that he can
always be with us :)

My son & wife are upset about it.

To those with cats in busy areas, KEEP YOUR CATS INSIDE
at night otherwise you may be writing this too!

FuqALot 02-27-2003 05:30 PM

Sucks man... come home with a new cute little cat tomorrow, maybe it'll make your wife and kid feel better.

J.R. 02-27-2003 05:32 PM

Ha.. we have 3 more.. and 2 dogs.. more then enough :)

'Smee' was the bomb.. killer personality... he will be tough
to replace, eventually we will get another Orange cat.

Thanks for the comments.. I know there are cat lovers out
there.. except Pro Hosters..:1orglaugh

Show your kid a valuable lesson. BP4L style.

very sorry J.R., i learned the lesson about keeping them indoors at all times a few years ago, lost a few friends to careless drivers... again, sympathies to your family, at least you know the truth, and don't have to wonder where he is..

bogo 02-27-2003 05:37 PM

Exactly.. my son who is 9 doesn't quite understand it.
It was his cat..

I was debating wether or not to tell any of them or to keep
it my secret.. but I knew that if they asked about him
all the time that it would kill me to hide that from them.

The secret would be worse....

sorry dude, that sucks...that's the worst way for a pet to go out......happened to us with our dog a few years ago. And then a year ago our cat got kidnapped by girlfriend's parents.

nofx 02-27-2003 05:41 PM

Im sorry to hear that. This past week my mothers cat died, we had had the cat for 7 years. It had a massive stroke and we had to put her to sleep. RIP Tizra

sorry to hear that...my childhood dog died suddenly last month and we had a serious scare with our cat a couple weeks ago. She stood up, threw up and passed out. My husband shook her , she came to and starting running around the house dragging her back legs. She is a realy fiesty cat but eventually she just sat there.. We rushed her to the vet, me making sure she stayed awake only to be told she was fine - just scared. Well freaked us out..thought she was dead when she passed out.

Orange cats are the BOMB .. they are ALWAYS the loviest. I have an Orange boy now and you never saw a cat more like a dog ever. He's awesome. Stupid, but awesome :)

G Sharp 02-27-2003 06:46 PM

I feel for ya, man.

PaulSweet 02-27-2003 06:52 PM

I've been there before - I feel for ya!

rowan 02-27-2003 08:49 PM

Very sorry to hear about your loss. I am a cat lover myself, in fact I just got back from the local cat protection society where I visited cats that need homes. It's upsetting to see that cats from my last visit (2-3 months ago) are still there, waiting for a home.

I hope your son can understand what has happened and in time overcome his grief, and remember the good times rather than be sad. It does sound like you have a big 'family' to help keep you going though! :)

Mike D 02-27-2003 09:00 PM

J. R.

I care.

I've got five dogs. No cats...but, they do take us over...

I'm real sorry.

Zoe 02-27-2003 10:06 PM

I know how you feel... I lost my precious Ruffian 2 years ago to a hit by car... and last week my kitty Medeia escaped outside and I haven't seen her since. I had Ruffian cremated, and if I don't get Medeia back alive, I'll do the same for her. :( I still have my fingers crossed, though. Cats definitely do better when kept inside.

Hey J.R.

So sorry to hear that -- and I know just how you're feeling -- we just had to put down our incredible Siamese, two days ago. I'm still depressed and draggin' ass today.

I'm sincerely sorry to here that.

I've got an old cat I've had 15-16 years. She gets around fine, but is losing her hearing. She has always been an outside cat - I've never had a litter box in fact.

But with her hearing loss, it's really starting to worry me to let her out.

Anyway - she will one day be sorely missed one day soon too.

:( Sorry to hear that. I lost one cat (Pandora) in a divorce...the husband claimed she died when I went to go pick her up a few weeks after we seperated--I think he's a lying sack of shit, but moving right along... My "Cleo" which has been an indoor cat her entire life escaped and had a 14 hour adventure outside and I was in tears looking for her.... I am very sorry to hear of your loss.
