Hahahahaha! The "History" Channel.....

Hahahahaha! The "History" Channel, just referred to "The Bible" as "the best selling non-fiction book of all time".

I understand your laugh about the "non-fiction" part but nothing really compares in print and distribution to the bible.

Helix 08-06-2013 07:01 PM

Well, you can laugh if you wish but I can tell you that my father was a believer and it gave him a tremendous comfort when his time came. He died in peace, so there is truly a place for religion for some. It sure helped my dad.
Something to think about.

Good for him, in all honesty.

If it helps someone, then I'm all for that. I'd probably look for something myself in that scenario. But I would be quite contempt in my Atheism also.

Nope, it's burnt pubes.

Go down on a lady with your smoke still in your grill, and you'll see what Moses really found.

Poor guy didn't know what he was doing.

If that is your argument, perhaps you should read a little more. :2 cents:

EddyTheDog 08-06-2013 08:27 PM

EddyTheDog is endorsed by a God...

If you go by actual sales figures it doesn't do well since most bibles are given away, it's a racket, give them the book and then sell them on the bs later.

Religion is good in that it gives a bond for otherwise old or lonely people to meet. Yes, it does give comfort to people who are dying, nothing wrong with that.

Like being knocked out and waking up over a passage of time that feels like a blink of an eye, so I believe when your final breath passes. Peaceful nothingness, nothing wrong with that.

He was laughing about the *non-fiction* part. Not sure where you pulled that rabbit from though...

If I ever make it to a point where I die of old age in a bed -- I know it's going to suck because I'm aware of the fact that nothing happens after you die. Your carcass decomposes and you cease to exist. The only thing that comforts me in the possibility I could live an eternity in an awesome dream that happens the second before I die.

Yes, I feel the same. I really wish to meet the loved one that passed away.

Religion ain't good, it's a lie, a geniously elaborated lie to control masses, period.

Those people lived a lie and feed the lie throughout their entire lives.

There's nothing good in it.

Remember, these are the same people who hired an actor who looks just like Barack Obama to play the devil in their silly movie. The only people who like that movie are the stupid shit-kickers who live in between the coasts -- and there's a lot of those fuckers.

It is fiction written by different people. Even their stories don't match... Don't tell me it is different points of view now. :1orglaugh I am spiritual being but not religious idiot.

P.S. Not a Christian, sorry to disappoint.

Just generally laughing at the so called "History" channel. They also mentioned something along the lines of; "The US was the only country that Germany declared war on during WWII".

Fact is, Germany also declared war on Norway.

I'm just generally laughing at how pathetic that channel actually is. Can't remember the last time I watched anything of any real historical importance.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the shows, but they seriously need to get their facts right. But, that might be a tough ask of a channel with utter bollocks like Ancient Aliens being played.

Also the burning bush is from the Torah, not the bible, or new testiment that the history channel was referring to.

I'm not sure why you find so much humour in this.

Because reality is funny?

Tom_PM 08-07-2013 11:07 AM

The Lord of the Rings is the best selling fiction. I wonder if it's close to passing the Bible yet? They've been number 1 in their categories for at least 30 yrs now. Or is it 2000?

If you're going to rag on the history channel you should point out how they rarely ever have any actual "history" any more... it's nothing but stupid ass reality shows about pawn shops and shit...
