Improving Eyesight Naturally

Anyone tried?

I'm short-sighted, I'm now on day 3, I'll let you know how it goes. :2 cents:

Care to expand upon this vague post?

Are you taking supplements? doing eye exercises?

I improved my eyesight naturally..... with prescription glasses.

Exercises, I've been dependent on glasses for many years :2 cents:

eat a shit ton of carrots :2 cents:

I've had good vision (knock on wood) but a friend of mine tried this once and did help. He used a training book he bought a Barns & Nobles years ago. Not sure if there is anything online, as that may defeat the purpose, but I know it did make a big difference... not perfect, but he didn't need reading glasses anymore

I have corrected my own to the point of not needing glasses while both parents and my siblings all wear then. I did it without "tools". You have to flex the muscles that shape your lenses. I liken it to being similar to the feeling you get when you look at one of those dots pictures trying to pull out the hidden picture.

You should look this up. It is an urban myth. They used it in WWII to explain why the UK shot down so many German planes. "They had good eyesight from eating carrots." The real reason was the invention of radar.

Can't make this shit up.

Most people have every day in the drinking water.

Choopa_Pardo 08-08-2013 08:23 AM

I have a bad astigmatism, so my only options are corrective lenses.

really helps for just night vision, however, but it's gotta improve everything

Barry-xlovecam 08-08-2013 01:39 PM

Your eye muscles can only change 2 Dioptres in the power of your eyes' lenses.

So, it is possible with mild myopia.

Depends on your current corrective lens prescription.

Interesting, in which case I can just about get back to normal, in theory. Noticed slight changes already, but far far too early to know if this will work. I'll make sure I update this thread around Christmas :thumbsup

23 days in, so far there's a distinct improvement, but I'll let you know the results when my next eye-test comes up :2 cents:

Sounds like bullshit to me. I had a radial keratotomy done 30 years ago, that was when they did it with a diamond blade instead of laser. Some people (ex-wife included) complained of starbursts at night, but it was still a helluva lot better than pre-op.

I am sorry, I forgot who I was talking to; stick with your rumor and fear mongering conspiracies.

One case was a girl I worked with, something started going wrong with one of her eyes, it was falling to bits, the doctors couldn't save it, she had had laser surgery not long before. :2 cents:

Oh, I am sorry. I forgot in your weird little mind one instance is too many. I like how you were able to pinpoint the blame to laser surgery. How long is "not long"?

It happened 2 months after the surgery...there's a lot of money to be made from it so all the more reason to suppress/deny the risks involved. :2 cents:

Of course; I forgot you had all the necessary information to make an informed evaluation. Have you taken into consideration that she may have taken a shower the day of the surgery? What about breakfast, what did she have for breakfast the morning of her surgery.

The Mrs just told me that the only person she knew who had laser surgery also had exactly the same complication, I bet it's a lot more common than we're told, she obviously had the same breakfast/shower combo before surgery :winkwink:

This sort of silliness is hilarious to me. Personally I know at least 10 people that have had it and they are all thrilled about it.

Secondly it is really easy to find out any eye centers that have had patients with bad results. Once word gets out, they lose business to the centers with good results, since there are so many to chose from. It's the profit motive that actually compels them to do a better job or they risk losing out to a competitor that will do good work. If it was some kind of government program then there would be no choice and no incentive to improve the quality of work.

Here in the US there are so many of those places that two things have happened. One, the price has come WAY down in the last 20 years, and the quality of work and innovation of new technologies and techniques has gone way up. If you don't give good quality at good prices, you can't compete in that business.

Stabbing each eye 20 times with scissors will help also. Loosens up the eye meat for improved focus at all distances.

eye docs who do lasik surgeries wear glasses themselves

ponder on that.

That is because of two things.... One, as you get older, the benefits of lasik will fade. Two, if your eyesight is really poor, or heavily astigmatic, then lasik will greatly improve your vision, but not bring it back to 20/20, (and clinics are very clear about telling you these things), and if a Dr needs 20/20 eyesight to do the surgery, he will have to wear glasses to make up the difference, but the perscription needed is much much lower.

Perhaps they have Long-sightedness (Hyperopia) which is trickier to fix with laser or lens replacement. One of the options is to just fix one eye and let your brain sort it out, so perhaps they think that as an eye surgeon (probably 45+) they would be better off seeing things close up, like the eye they are operating on :)
