Miami Graffiti Artist Gunned Down with taser...
My view is Tasers are for all intent and purposes a lethal weapon, it's not uncommon for someone to die after being tased.
http://www.miamiherald.com/2013/08/0...-tasering.html So should a kid who got caught on a graffiti run be chased down and tased, does the potential harm of being tased outweigh the benefit to society? I sure think so... basically getting shot to death for doing graffiti on an abandoned building. To me this is something to get upset about... not what G Zimmerman did to save his life. At just 17, Israel Hernandez-Llach was already an award-winning artist, on the threshold of acclaim in Miami Beach art circles. He was a sculptor, painter, writer and photographer whose craft was inspired by his home country of Colombia and his adopted city, Miami. |
Yeah.. those crazy cops. Just walked up to a child and hit him in the chest for no reason at all.
ohhhhhh..... wait... Police find a known vandal, catching him in the act and.... "Hernandez-Llach was confronted by officers about 5 a.m. as he was vandalizing private property, and he fled, leading officers on a foot chase. It ended at 71st and Harding when he was cornered by police and ran toward the officers, ignoring commands to stop, Martinez said. “The officers were forced to use the Taser to avoid a physical incident,’’ the chief said." The alternative of course to dealing with a hostile suspect who is charging police is to shoot him with a gun...but clearly tasers are the problem. |

Commit a crime, and police will attempt to arrest you. When you run the police will chase you and physically restrain you. |
Last time I seen someone get busted for doing graffiti the guy sat there and talked to the cops like a normal human, the cops actually left and let him continue. lol
|
quit spraying bullshit on stuff you don't own
|
I remember back in the day when Chrome and Crook were on the lose tagging everything in sight. I think they finally caught them and charged them with Millions in damages.
The worst part for them was having tagged Train cars. |
congratulations, Miami, you just killed one of these guys:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jean-Michel_Basquiat "Jean-Michel Basquiat (December 22, 1960 – August 12, 1988) was an American artist.[1] He began as an obscure graffiti artist in New York City in the late 1970s and evolved into an acclaimed Neo-expressionist and Primitivist painter by the 1980s." well done. |

Locally to me, a handicapped man was tasered twice then dragged off a bus, breaking his hip, then locked up for 14 hours while pleading that he was injured. Because he wanted to stand on the bus and hold the handle rather than sit down, as he's done all of his bus riding life.
The video is on this page if anyone cares to watch 9 minutes of a handicapped man asking why he should sit down, then why he should get off the bus. http://www.9wsyr.com/content/news/vi...1QpE3SqSA.cspx |

A US study of the nationwide use of Tasers, the electrical stun guns used by the police, suggests the devices are safe and cause only a low incidence of serious injuries. The independent prospective study was carried out by emergency medicine researchers at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine and was presented at the American College of Emergency Physicians' Research Forum in Seattle, Washington, yesterday, 8th October. The study was funded by the National Institute of Justice. Researchers from Louisiana State University, Inova Fairfax Hospital in Virginia, and University Medical Center, Nevada, also contributed to the study. The research examined nearly 1,000 cases of Taser use, and found 99.7 per cent of them had either no injuries, or only mild injuries such as "scrapes and bruises". In 0.3 per cent of the cases (3 people) the injuries were serious enough to require hospital admission. Two had head injuries sustained during falls after the Taser was used and the third was hospitalized two days after arrest with a condition "of unclear relationship to the Taser" said the researchers in a prepared statement. http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/84955.php plenty where that came from/ |
Good for him, stop vandalizing other people's property.

I own a few buildings and this shit is a pain in the ass.

1) It was an abandon shuttered McDonald?s.
2) Two officers, two tasers on one skinny kid. http://media.miamiherald.com/smedia/...bCf.St.56.jpeg It's big news here in Miami. |

And... its pretty fucking hard to shoot someone with a taser that is "running away". |

P.S. Even in the "evil" USSR such things were just impossible. Ask any guy/girl (e.g. Marina) who was born in the Soviet Union (there is a lot of them here on GFY) and they all will confirm my words. This is just fuckin' sick and inhumanely. And yeah, enjoy your "freedom". |

No one cares about the owner of the building, only that some poor vandal with no respect for other people has died. |

"He was also a graffiti artist, known as ?Reefa,? who sprayed colorful splashes of paint on the city?s abandoned buildings while playing cat-and-mouse with cops
the cat caught the mouse :2 cents: |

Watch this video (watch it attentively): This police officer was fired from his job just because he clutched his holster (didn't even get his gun out). He was just unhappy that someone is filming him. FYI: In Russia you are ALLOWED to film cops while they are on duty. So once again. Such a sick and inhumanely situation is absolutely impossible here. And it was impossible in Soviet Union too. P.S. And yes, we have no death penalty here. At least you have a very good consolation: you live in the free country while I not. |
Cops in America have been pussified and then armored up.
I saw a chick this morning have to call for backup and wait for it to arrive before doing her job. When she finally got out of the car, she was MAYBE 5'1'' - 135 lbs. What the fuck is up with letting anyone these days be a cop? |
This happened about 10 minutes from where I am sitting at the moment.
1) If you are hanging around that neighborhood at 5:30am, you are definitely not up to any good. You are also about 3 blocks from the gang areas. 2) If you run from the police, they are going to catch you. They don't know why you are running, maybe you have a gun on you, who knows. If they ask you to get on the ground multiple times and you don't, they are going to taze your ass. 3) I guarantee when the autopsy comes back, you are going to see this kid was: a) high on ecstasy or b) high on bath salts or c) suffering from cocaine psychosis (common in taser deaths) Was nice to see in the paper that this kid had just received his US citizenship. Nice way to pay back the country by going out and defacing it when you have millions of people that would (and have) died for citizenship here. |

his skills - so what dont break the fucking law. he should buy his own building and deface that or at least ask permission beforehand from the owner. There are a lot of shops in Spain that allow you to do art on the buildings as long as it looks neat. |

You guys are goofy.
Dark in the very early morning, two blocks over from gangland, a person (first, a 17-year-old is not a child, second, a person loses their "oh poor baby" defense when they start running) first goes running away from the police (who told him to stop) and then comes charging back at them (who told him to stop.) According to all of you goofballs, the police should have stepped aside and said "hey man, nice artwork, can I get your autograph?" Unfortunate that he died, but he's lucky he did not get straight lit up. If you want to commit a crime, fine, go for it, but don't expect to be a martyr when you get caught. Do the crime, do the time, like a man. Run at a police officer, you're going to get shot. That's just stupid. |

2baddog: Are all the modern US bikers are kissing the police shoes or it's just you such an unique person? Please don't make me disappointed about the whole US biker movement. I saw tens of Hollywood movies about cool and fearless bikers and now... you :(
