This day in 1969....

WOODSTOCK
Best flipping time of my life, no doubt!!!

While the government had its ass buried deep in the Vietnam War, I was trucking down a highway with my thumb out heading to Woodstock after being warned by my parents that there would be consequences if I went. When I returned home, I packed my clothes and moved out.......:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

Long live Rock-N-Roll :thumbsup

pinkz 08-15-2013 01:50 PM

am 99.999999% sure that "brown acid" gets a mention from some hippy dude on stage in the woodstock docu film, but then again I could just be trippin!

on a less serious note "window pane's" were they small sacks of liquid lsd or just clear jell?

on a side note "never trust a hippy or a punky bambi"

Yep you are right, it is in the docu film and was also mentioned in the festival..... we were so tosted, you could hardly hear the garbled announcements....that place was huge.

J. Falcon 08-15-2013 02:32 PM

Share some real stories from the show.

sarettah 08-15-2013 02:50 PM

This day in 1969

I was in the back of a nine seater station wagon parked on the New York state thruway watching people with backpacks walk between the cars and listening to my father cursing the gawd damn hippies under his breath.

We were coming south on our way home from 2 weeks in the Adirondacks.

I had no idea that I was witnessing history on that day.

.

Hey Buddy! Stories? I think I might be able to remember some, man its been along time...remind me to tell you about the twin sisters.
We could go for a few beers. We are heading up north with the coach this weekend to test her on some steep grades.....hopefully heading up to Washington st/Oregon area next year.

I will try to get in touch this next week.

My mom was 19 and a fashion model in New York when woodstock was held, she had some friends who attended but didn't go herself, which she regrets pretty bad hehe

SomeCreep 08-15-2013 04:11 PM

I wouldve loved woodstock

I was living in Hawaii when we heard about Woodstock...smoked some Maui Waui in honor of the occasion and began counting down the days until the love revolution swept the planet - still counting down, damn it. :smokin

The Woodstock movie is one of the few movies I've watched over a dozen times - epic stoner film:

:stoned

In the UK in the 80's you could get clear and red windowpanes, they were liquid acid set in gelatine. first trip I ever took. Ah youth!!

I know, have had plenty of the clear ones and also some black ones that were pressed into a pyramid shape. best I ever had tho was liquid from the dam that came in a bottle that said it was "mint breath fresh" very nice clean trip and actually minty too.

seriously tho if you wanna trip take "dmt" it makes acid seem rather tame in comparison.

indeed, i have had many friends fall by the way-side due to over consumption, mental health probs and fatalities are a bitch to deal with when you know that deep down the people affected are genuine humans and not run of the mill sheeple........... still we live and learn

Because I'm curious. You didn't happen to be about 4 years old, blond with a crew, wearing a white T-shirt and eating what appeared to be a sandwich... Then looked at a hippie walking past with a big floppy black hat and asked your father if that was a smelly shitty hippie ?

Lol. Nope. In the summer of '69 I was 13 years old and I was well aware of what a hippy was.

My Father was a red neck and he hated us hippies....tried to cut my hair a couple of times.

The more he poked, the worse I got ;)

lsd is a very curious drug. i've seen friends have "bad trips" on three occasions. very scary stuff. long story short, one friend thought several of our friends raped a girl and ran into the key west police station shouting it out loud...........and then the paranoia set in.

Joshua G 08-19-2013 02:12 PM

crazy thing is that led zeppelin played in new jersey the weekend of woodstock. Imagine having to choose between seeing woodstock or 69 led zep...

Enjoy A Little Wavy Gravy on Me...

I think Wavy Gravy summed it up well...

Mr Gravy is still going strong - I see him from time to time at events around the Bay Area - here he is at his 75th Birthday Bash a few years ago:
