I think your goal is a long, long, long shot. But, I'm sure you can still make money and since you want to try it, why not! First, run a test. One test at one dollar, one test at $.50. If the test at $.50 converts more than double than your test at one dollar, go with $.50.

I think people will piss away $1 or $0.50 without even thinking about it. The scene doesn't even have to be good. Who would complain, even if they got pure crap but only spent a buck for it?

I wouldn't go out and shoot a new scene for this experiment, but perhaps some old stuff I shot a long time ago and never used?

I'm not so sure about that. You still need to motivate the customer to pull out their credit card (since you can't use PayPal) and type in the information. They have to want it either way. I am with woj, I think said person will be just as willing to spend five dollars as one dollar. And with $1 and $.50, I don't see $.50 making that much of a difference when the person is already pulling out their wallet.

But this is all speculation, you have to test them all before you really know. Results could be totally different. Who knows, you might be a millionaire in six months!

Paypal has a micropayment billing option which is designed for charges <$10, with lower fees.

I already have my paypal set up on miro payments system.. And the billing question is is a good one. If I were to do this, I might go ahead and use Paypal anyways and just withdraw the funds as they come in $100 at a time or so. Don't keep a large balance in there so when they do seize it they don't get a lot.

At any rate, the whole process of opening up a wallet, and whipping out a credit card takes a degree of comfort and have my doubts that Craigslist is the right medium for that.

There are a few major factors that need to be *just right* to make the sale, no matter how small.

I can guarantee you that if you went from a new or periodically used Paypal account and had a few hundred of the very same small transactions constantly appearing from a large number of people that your Paypal account would be manually reviewed before you could withdraw your $100.
