FriendFinder Netwroks did $314M revenue last year. Name other adult companies who you think do more

According to CNN Friend Finder Networks (AFF/cams.com) did $314.4 million in revenue last year.

http://money.cnn.com/quote/quote.html?symb=FFNT

Since they are one of few publicly traded companies (though recently delisted from NASDAQ) they are one of few we have real revenue numbers for.

Name the other companies you think do more than them.

1. Manwin
2. CCBill ?
3. Gammae

What do you think about Verotel, Epoch, Zombaio?

No pissing here, please. Let's just identify the big guys and gals in the industry. :)

Just Alex 08-19-2013 05:09 PM

Talk about profit and not revenue. I heard FF stock was pulled off from NASDAQ :2 cents:

I'm personally more curious about revenue at the moment but that does make more sense when comparing the success of various companies.

The issue with FFN isn't how much revenue they generated, but how much money the business lost. :upsidedow

FFN has lost big money every year since the Marc Bell/Penthouse purchase. And let's not forget that much of their revenue was derived from advertising/partnering with piracy sites, etc.

I didn't start the topic to pick on AFF or anything. I chose them because they are one of few companies who have their numbers published. :)

Playboy was public at one time from what I understand. According to Wikipedia in 2010 their revenue was $210 million. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Playboy_Enterprises

I thought there was another one as well but the name escapes me.

The ignore list thing isn't to be a dick. It's to let people know not to waste their time and for people to see why I might not respond. Sometimes it's the best thing to do. :)

I am feeling nostalgic - How is Sagi?..

Going back when progs valued affiliates - I was short of cash - as usual lol - AFF bought my rebills at a fair price...

I just asked and got some cash hours later - I was given a fair price.....

Those where the days...

Affiliates and progs didn't always rage war against each other.....

I think a lot of companies could gross $314.4 mill, if they racked up $602.9 million of debt. Their financials are painfully bad. Look at their balance sheets and you'll note that $472.1 million of that debt is in the last year. No offense, but anyone who is impressed by that performance needs to repeat 2nd grade math.

Their shareholders lost $176.4 million worth of equity this past year. (And more than a hundred mill for each of the preceding few public years as well.)

I only used them because they are about the only public porn company I know of. So you have published numbers.

To be fair to them I think most of their debt is to the old owners of the company for the purchase. According to CBS they were making $115 million in payments every year for that debt alone. They paid $500 million to purchase the company. http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-505123_1...tag=bnetdomain

Interesting comments btw on the 2011 CBS article at the end about advertising revenue.

Good one. Looks like it's a pretty recent statement too.

signupdamnit 08-19-2013 08:27 PM

Interesting thought here about Manwin and the tube part of their business only.

Assume 100 million visits a day. (good high estimate or no?)
Assume they can somehow squeeze $3 cpm

$300,000 per day
$109 million a year

Assume $5 cpm instead
$182.5 million a year

I would have thought it would be more. This is just one aspect of their business though.

The Porn Nerd 08-19-2013 09:03 PM

You also have to fsctor in HUGE companies in Germany and Japan that no one ever mentions. Many of these companies have generic names so it's a real task to try and find who actually owns who or what.

How many profitable companies are involved with adult but you'd never know it from their corporate name/persona?

Dont forget:
Livejasmin
Streamate
MFC

I know a few others that do +300K per day easily. [revenue]

Signupdamit, 300K [revenue] is a very low quess

I think he said 300m as in $300,000,0000/year ....so looking at close to million dollar days... #fuckyeahmillionaires

Revenue means nothing, it's about profits. $300mil revenue doesn't mean anything if it cost them $400mil to make.

It looks like an average of about $90 million per year of that is just the interest on their massive debt. If their net income is averaging around $40 million, that is a pretty easy equation.

Of the company's $452.2 in assets, $390.6 is listed as intangibles. Odds are that most of that is Penthouse, meaning that they may make the assets portion look stronger with that acquisition, but the overall debt to equity ratio is kinda ridiculous, especially when one factors in their clear overpayment for the Penthouse brand. Those intangibles should be heavily impaired, if anyone were paying attention.

Indeed. There are quite a few companies/programs with very little to no board presence who do six figures per day.

seeandsee 08-20-2013 02:02 AM

AFF made 314m revenue ???

ajrocks 08-20-2013 06:28 AM

How much of that is loss though. That company runs on debt.

^^ This
But more mfc/streamate than livejasmin these days. The livejasmin company does money more with mainstream investments lately, I think.

they are paying 15% apr ? That's insane! It should be possible to refinance to turn s profit if their revenues are not declining
