Probably one of my favorite authors.

The literary world lost a giant today. It is a sad day.

His '10 rules of writing' were hanging on my office wall for years....
A brilliant author no doubt.

Definitely a brilliant writer with a long run. Far superior to any of the clowns who attempted movies of his work.

I worked on Be Cool in the audio dept. Producers had way too much money, little of which made it to the screen.

Definitely a legend - i need to read more, the only book of his I read was Get Shorty which I loved.

Amen him Im gonna miss even Justified is one of my favs but his books are the best... my flag is half mast today for him....

The man knew how to turn a word. :thumbsup

He actually had a porn connection too....52 Pick-up, a Leonard book turned into a movie starring Roy Scheider and Ann-Margaret, has cameos by several 80′s porn stars, including Honey Wilder, Amber Lynn, Tom Byron, Herschel Savage, Cara Lott, Sharon Mitchell, Barbara Dare, Jamie Gillis and a much slimmer Ron Jeremy.

Ya, I was sad to read about that as well. I have read a lot of his books. He certainly had a talent for making dialogue jump off the pages. Loved his writing ... RIP.
