That is what I thought when they announced Heath ledger was playing joker. Boy was I wrong.

No but he Tweeted that he has seen Batman naked.

He'd do better with that rather than being given actual words to say.

I have enjoyed his directing efforts I had hoped he would focus on that.

I'm a big View Askew fan too so I can't hate him but at least in that universe we all agree we like him despite his wooden acting.

I thought he was good in The Town. I really think he can act when he wants to and isn't just mailing it in. Then again I'm one of the few Kevin Smith fans that actually liked Jersey Girl...

I'm the other one....Jersey Girl got excessively harsh reviews because of the whole Bennifer thing of the time. It wasn't perfect but it was Smith's attempt to grow up a bit and he got his hand smacked. Which is probably why he has been stuck in Jay and Bob era since then.

i agree 100%. You can look at it like the hundreds of talent shows on tv over the past 10 years. It all feels like a rerun, a vicious cycle of the same shit all the time - and millions of people keep watching. Braindead idiots.

Before I read your post, I was thinking, they couldn't pick a worse Batman than Ben Affleck. But you're right, Ashton Kutcher would be the bottom of the barrel.

But look at the bright side, at least it's not Samuel L. Jackson or Ice Cube.

He won't be any worse than Val Kilmer or George Clooney or Christian Bale.


Let's not forget that Man of Steel was a shitty movie. The sequel will be no better.

hollywood must have a software algo to calculate out these sorts of things for blockbusters, plug in all the #s to get the required bottomline and the actors are named that can contribute to that. i gotta believe affleck's name rose to the top due to argo because i just can't see how studio execs would come up with this.

they need some spidie sense to root out an unknown to play batman, just like they did with spiderman.

He's a huge comic geek. I am sure he campaigned for the chance to be Batman. You can't really blame him. Though whoever agreed, perhaps.

In addition, it made the internet blow up and get the movie a ton of press. I bet a bunch of people go for car crash reasons.

Man of Steel was a fucking awesome kick-ass movie - I loved it. Sharp eyed viewers (like me!) noticed hints at the next movie but I won't spoil it here.

But the sequel to star Batman and Superman looks like its dying fast. Ben Affleck is a bad idea of course but the big money people are placing their bets on Chris Nolan's next movie, Interstellar (Anne Hathaway, Matthew McConaguhey, Michael Cain, John Lithgow, and written by Chris Nolan and Kip Thorn (Scientist)). They also just added Casey Affleck to the cast). Battle of the bro's?

So.... it appears that even Hollywood is ready for super hero movies to fail.

I will go into this with an open mind. Maybe Ben has something inside him we haven't seen yet and he will be great at this.
