Met-Art
My question is, why are their uniques always disproportionately lower compared to other similar sites exposed to the same traffic? Or is it just me?
For example, if I were to put a text link to Met-Art and a text link to Femjoy or Zemani or avErotica or etc etc ad infinitum on a page with absolutely nothing else and 1K surfers clicked on each link once, I would expect the results to be 1K uniques for each sponsor showing up in CCBill. However, it rarely ever turns out that way. The Raw hits are always consistently on par across the board, but the Uniques for Met-Art are always lower than every other site. Way lower. Way way lower. |
Well, did you actually DO that (put links on a page ad infinitum, etc)? Probably not but I understand your point. With ErosExotica (the site that, ahem, "inspired" so many of these new fangled "erotic"-style websites) we've found that uniques are actually HIGHER than with other sites such as Met-Art (which we promote, along with X-Art and a few others, inside the ErosExotica Members Area).
But after reading your post here I went and checked and guess what? Dang if Met-Art isn't 58% lower in uniques than X-Art and the other similar sites we promote even tho Met-Art has the superior placement. Sales are actually higher with X-Art, at least for us. But with Met-Art we will have to do more research on this. Perhaps others have experiences that can illuminate. |
It's how they've configured the definition of a 'unique' click - the looser the definition the more uniques that will be counted, the stricter the definition is the lower the unique count will be.
If a program sets their unique cookie expiration to 24 hours a surfer might visit the tour 3 different days during a week and you'll see 3 uniques counted, if the program sets their unique cookie expiry to 7 days you'd only see 1, the original visit, counted as a unique. Easy for a program to show a great conversion ratio when you count less uniques. CCBill client admin gives program owners lots of options on how to count uniques. I think I set mine for 3 days expiry. |

I remember Femjoy announcing in an email that they lengthened theirs quite a while ago, but Met-Art ..... I can't even find anything about cookies or sales tracking anymore in their affiliate terms. |
Oh ...... and the same goes for the other sites like Sex-art in the Met-Art Network. Not just the flagship site.
