Anyone here teach themselves RUBY to create mobile apps?
 

Anyone here learned the RUBY coding language from scratch with no previous coding/programming experience?

No for mobile apps, but my girl taught herself Ruby a few years back.

Anyone with a REAL programming background should be able to pick things up quite quickly and easily.

Seems like a bit of a strange starting point for coding mobile apps...

Not sure i would teach Ruby to develop mobile apps

How about JAVA? Anyone here teach themselves how to do it? I am bored and am looking for a personal self-education challenge.

Slowness aside though, Java is a better place to start.

For iOS apps, Objective C is what I'm being told.

What is a good tool to teach you how to code properly ?

There's a lot of stuff gear towards children that would really help you out.

Yeah I wouldn't really go for Ruby for mobile apps. It's great in general though. Codeacademy is a great site, really eases you into things and cuts down on environment issues with languages.

http://exercism.io/ is another one to look at for Ruby.

Of course you kinda have to read Why?s (Poignant) Guide to Ruby just for shits and giggles.
