My neice and nephew were over for a visit last summer and my father set up some geocaching for them to do. Mostly he bought a bunch of small kids toys and hid them in various locations around the area. He made up a 'treasure map' with GPS co-ordinates and they had a fun time going around finding the stuff.

My uncle and his kids are a little obsessed by it. Been out with them a few times. I didn't really understand it except you go on the geocaching website, choose a geocache in your area.
Get your GPS out and follow the clues provided. The treasures were pretty rubbish and rather small. Crappy mcdonald type toys sorts. Usually there is a piece of paper in as well (a diary) and you add your name to the list of people that have found it, perhaps with a note. You then replace the found toy with one you have taken with you. |
