Ratatouille

today was part of our second best weekend of spring already and my girlfriend made me ratatouille, a french salad sauce dish.

get your girlfriends, boyfriends or anyone else to make you this, here's how you do it.

large chunks of tomatoes
courgettes
aubergines
onions
green and red peppers
about a litre of tomato sauce

just mix it all up in a large bowl, serve hot or cold, you could season it too with lemon and pepper or salt and pepper.

i used to just love giving my chinese an italian flavour.

i don't think you need the tomato sauce... (add more tomatoes)

that can be optional. you could have tomato sauce but have made it yourself with tomatoes, squeezed lemon juice and plenty of it from a few lemons, and salt and pepper, then blend it all up.

i also had the ratatouille with crispy noodles in it, so a chinese french meal.

i will look it up for you.

"The word ratatouille comes from Occitan ratatolha and the recipe comes from Occitan cuisine. The French touiller means to toss food. Ratatouille originated in the area around present day Occitan Provença (French: Provence) and Niça (French: Nice); the Catalan samfaina and the Majorcan tombet are versions of the same dish.[2] The southern Italian ciambotta is a related spring vegetable dish."

It sounds like a French version of hot wet salad tossing.

Bon appetite indeed. :D
