Whatever happened to Snowden?

What ever happened to Snowden? He went into hiding in Russia and was... Never heard from again?

dyna mo 08-31-2013 12:00 PM

hah, i read this morning he has 3x the documents he said he has. it's all super encrypted, they found a shitton of the docs on that guy miranda and he had the passcode on him for the encryption like a total tard. anway. it's my understanding that the deal with snowden was at putin's request, he can stay in russia if he stops hurting putin's western friends.

so i gathered that to mean that what is out there is all we are going to get, depending on wikileaks.

re: any legislation introduced to reign in the nsa, it's my understanding 19 bills were introduced, 7 have been dropped/voted out, 12 are left.

Last I heard he was in Russia. Before that he was in the Russian embassy in Hong Kong. Seems to be a trend here....

Whistleblower or defector?

dyna mo 08-31-2013 02:11 PM

whatever he is he's not very bright. ending up in russia after promising not to reveal anymore.

nice move!

in fact, i'd wager he's done more damage than good at this point. he's certainly set-back usa-russia relations.

oppoten 08-31-2013 02:24 PM

It's still there, but it gets a bit busy on bank holidays

he is doing a homework for asange

Phoenix 08-31-2013 02:55 PM

he has still released some info since being there.
I am guessing strategic info that mr Putin deems worthy.

He handed over the documents to the guardan reporter and that's where the latest leaks all came from.

This way he doesn't violate the russia deal and info still gets released.

an interesting angle on this for me really is what will come of this globally.

the reason it's interesting is because i came across a body of researchers/etc who have pinpointed the entire arab spring back to chelsea manning's release of documents via wikileaks.

now i don't know if the arab springs are good or bad but they sure seem bad from my angle, if snowden's reveal only really add to that or even worse, be the cataylst for another uas-russia problem. well......

if anyone is interested, although i was figurin i'd start a thread on it next week, so nobody beat me to it!

It's not important this week.

This week it's a toss up between McDonald's workers wanting $15 an hour VS Martin Luther King's work being "unfinished 50 years later VS Bombing Syria

Next week...who knows? Maybe we'll go back to Iran trying to acquire nuclear weapons. And hey, didn't North Korea pretty much threaten us a couple of months ago too?

Hard to keep up with all the drama.

Barry-xlovecam 08-31-2013 04:09 PM

Snowden has been hired at the Kremlin by the Russian Foreign Ministry as their tutor for North American Diplomacy ...

He was a fictional character made up by the CIA to distract us from... oh wait, thought I was logged in as someone else.

I think once you hit forty... You see the same shit over and over again. North Korea, Iran, another arab country doing the Arab spring thing, and every three of our years a country who thinks it can stand up to the US. Add in a few people wanting money - fast food workers, OWS - a disaster and huge accident.... And the news is always the same.

Snowden is knee deep in tall, skinny, blond Russian pussy. He's busy.
