I long ago faced the facts that Obama was able to do things by "floating the middle".
I could criticize him, but it's not like there is really a choice. His choice is to win.
Obama is not in any position to "win" with a solo opinion.
But is that new? When Bush said he would go it alone, did that turn out perfect? No.

I'm not the biggest Obama fan myself, but this is all just too rich.

If he'd decided to go ahead & strike Syria without Congressional approval, the GOP and pretty much everyone else who doesn't like him would be frothing at the mouth. But now when he actually tries to build some kind of consensus before taking action, people start going on and on about how "weak" and "indecisive" he is.

Because truth is most people have a fucking stupid agenda and ideology with their personal ego all wrapped up in it, so they will twist any event to suit that worldview. No matter what the president does, those people will find fault because they're psychologically invested in his failure.

I believe this is more of a layman's translation. A pretty precise one.

The United States and Britain had secretly deployed troops onto Syrian soil months ago. They've prepared laser positions for their guided missile bombing blitz. The coalition consists of France, Britain and Israel including a large contingent of United States drones. Obama is certain congress will approve his declaration of war proposal against Syria.
