Wow, Obama said this? Fox News
I really can't believe Obama said this.
"We may or may not be upset. Please give me a week to consult with my friends in Congress. If we decide that we are upset, be warned, we will wreak havoc! But if we decide that we are not upset, sorry for the trouble, we hope you have a nice weekend." :disgust |
Someone was messing with his teleprompter again..

I long ago faced the facts that Obama was able to do things by "floating the middle". I could criticize him, but it's not like there is really a choice. His choice is to win. Obama is not in any position to "win" with a solo opinion. But is that new? When Bush said he would go it alone, did that turn out perfect? No. |

There was a coalition of countries. But as always...it's the U.S. with the most shit involved. And both houses of Congress voted for it too. They are all idiots. :( |
It's a catch22 going in and he knows it. America is a fickle bunch when it comes to their president, and the rest of the world is a fickle bunch about America.
People are constantly saying "yeah? Well what would McCain have done? What would Romney have done?" when the real question might be "after 2016, what will HILLARY do?" :D |
Maybe that was code to the troops, to blast the fuck out of Syria...

To paraphrase:
"We will embrace this attack on Syria. Support it from our lands in the north. I will gain American favor by condemning it, and ordering it opposed from our lands in the south." - Braveheart |
wait, this is a joke right? someone please tell me that the pusa did not ever say that.

I'm not the biggest Obama fan myself, but this is all just too rich.
If he'd decided to go ahead & strike Syria without Congressional approval, the GOP and pretty much everyone else who doesn't like him would be frothing at the mouth. But now when he actually tries to build some kind of consensus before taking action, people start going on and on about how "weak" and "indecisive" he is. Because truth is most people have a fucking stupid agenda and ideology with their personal ego all wrapped up in it, so they will twist any event to suit that worldview. No matter what the president does, those people will find fault because they're psychologically invested in his failure. |
I believe this is more of a layman's translation. A pretty precise one.
