With the same crappy screens that crack all the time?

I don't understand the burning need to have the newest cell phone. My old cell phone can do everything an iPhone can do, as could my phone before it and my phone before that. I don't even pay attention to the new phones at this point; When it's time for me to re-up my contact I go in and pick a phone.

I have the 4S, contract is up next month. I will probably upgrade around Christmas just to see what's new, I have seen the camera on the 5 and it is really very nice, but I assume no different than any other phone.

Cover of the case means little to me, I have a big case protector anyway.

You know in the 1960s we saw that it was possible to give every single person on earth access to a television but not food.

Today we can give every single person on this planet an Iphone (or similar) but again not food.

We got promised over and over again how the answer to all our problems was in technology but when it comes to the poor in the world

We can NOT seem to feed them....
or give them clean sanitation..
or give them books so children can learn to read....
or even a tent to keep the rain off their heads.

At least an edible Iphone would be a meal. Ok an expensive meal but at least it would be something. For me it has been almost 50 years of hearing the same promises over and over again that technology is the solution to all the world's problems. So I want to know when is this junk going to start delivering on all those promises?
