LUBBOCK, TX ? A mystery tunnel is creating quite the buzz in a north Lubbock neighborhood.

Lee Smithwick first discovered it in his back-yard when part of his grass caved in. At first he thought it was a sinkhole, but then he saw railroad ties.

Lee called the fire and police departments to come take a look.

After a little investigating they discovered it was a hidden tunnel braced with those railroad ties.

Local historians have now come out to check it out for themselves.
