I'd rather use my jetbrains IDE's and have my ready made templates and snippets.

this is hosted on your pc, github hosts all your data

Not necessarily. You can choose to publish to github or not and just use git on local files. And you can always keep your repository private.

I'm using it right now mainly for version control, but I'll check out the applications you provided.
