This is me. Every day.

I could do a 17 hour day, and still feel bad I'm not working when I'm finally relaxing. I mean WTF! Sometimes, I think something is wrong with me.

A few solid, concentrated hours of working is far superior than 17 hours of mindless droning.

There is no such thing as stress unless people are shooting at you, or if someone can die if you make the wrong choices in the next thirty seconds.

I have friends that are utterly stressed out and I can't figure out why.

I used to do that a few years ago...now I chill out more. I know when i've "hit the wall" with work and will no longer be working effectively, so i go do sometime else.

So only soldiers can be stressed out, is effectively what you are saying? Just because you may not have a stressful life doesn't mean others don't. It's unfair to say people shouldn't be stressed. Personally I don't have a stressful life either, but I do know a lot of people who go through a lot of problems which causes issues for them.

Previous experiences in life are a major factor.

A person who has lost their home before is under more stress at work because they fear a reality that others have not seen up close and personal.

Someone one who was shot by the police before feels more stress at a routine traffic stop.

Someone who's been divorced before feels more stress when their spouse is "out with the buddies".

etc...

That's more about managing work time then "stress".

You could work only 2 hours and be stressed to the max the entire two hours while being very effective.

Stress is not physical fatigue, but stress can manifest itself as a symptom known as fatigue. Fatigue and stress are not the same thing, but many people think it is.

A worker may feel like they need a long vacation because of fatigue; but the reality could be that the fatigue is actually caused by stress related to the worker not feeling confident about completing their daily job duties.

Stress is when the 1st team and 2nd team quarterback went down with knee injuries in the 1st quarter of the Super Bowl and they just put your ass in. You ain't tired, YET! :1orglaugh

I'm not quite certain, but were you a marine at some point in your life?

This is very true.

Unfortunately, unless you've got a solid time-consuming project to work on it can be easier said than done. When multi-tasking (which is a big part of most of our day-to-day) it's not hard to get distracted and then that "few solid concentrated hours" spreads out...

This is true and it sucks. If only more of us were able to free our minds and live in the moment. So much stress and anxiety in our daily lives is an unnecessary interference that only breeds more problems which in turn breeds more stress. Truly unfortunate.

We get it rochard, you have a ton of friends. Every post you make you let us all know about another one of your "friends" situation. You know, it's crazy, but I have this friend exactly like you.
