Is the Law of Attraction just a bunch of BS?
I mean it's one thing to create your own reality because you a) know how to set goals, b) know how to execute on a persistent basis and c) know how to finetune, it's another to start the creation process from the 'theory' of 'universal consciousness.'
BS? Or is there something to it? I ask because quite a number of people in my personal circle has caught the 'universal possibilities' bug. Here's an intro on conscious personal reality creation: What do you think? BS? or there might be something there.... Personally, I think it's all about BELIEF. If you believe you can ACHIEVE, nothing will stop you. But if you're too busy putting OBSTACLES and EXCUSES on your way, almost EVERYTHING can cut your journey short. The truth is, the only person who can stop you is Y-O-U. No law of attraction. Just PERSONAL WILL. |
I look at it like this. For many people in the end you get back some of what you put out. Likely not because there is some greater force like karma or a law of attraction, but because of proximity.
If you work hard, set goals, surround yourself with positive people and put yourself out there, others similar people will find you and with them there could be opportunities for you. In a way it is like celebrity. I saw the guy who play Raj on Big Bang Theory on a talk show a while back and he was joking around that he was wearing a nice, expensive jacket that the designer gave him for free. He is famous now and people want to be around him. They want to give him things in hopes that having their things affiliated with him will encourage others to buy those things. He laughed and said, "Where were all these people when I was broke and unemployed?" It is the same concept. I see people talk about how the cops are out to get them and they are always in one kind of trouble or another and the reality is that those people usually are hanging out with shitty people. They are in the proximity of trouble and at times they are partaking in it. They can't be shocked when trouble finds them. On the other end of the spectrum my brother works for a commercial construction company. He has been there 15 years now. He has worked his ass off and worked his way up the company ladder. Along the way he has impressed a lot of people and worked with a lot of people that now work for other companies. It was looking like the company he works for might lose a big contract. If that happened he would be laid off. The day it was announced that the contract would be put out for bid (meaning the company my brother works for didn't automatically get it) he was very stressed out. During his drive home that afternoon the stress disappeared because he got six calls from different companies who all knew him from his reputation and having worked with him. They all told him if the contract falls through they will hire him on the spot with the same or better pay and benefits than he is getting now. He works hard, is in the proximity of others that work hard and appreciate people who are good at what they do and good things found him because of it. |
