I just got the gold one recently from the store, so it didn't coast an obnoxious amount. All and all i really like it. Its nice to not type in a password and be able to unlock it with my finger prints. The improvements on the camera are nice as well.

You can make that analogy about any product, really. I have the 5, wife has a 5S and I'd say it's a decent upgrade. The finger print reader makes unlocking a breeze compared to keying in an 8 digit password every time.

And while they're both blazing fast phones, the 5S is legitimately twice as fast as the 5. It would be a tough argument to make that Apple is selling crapware... or that Apple makes products for stupid people. They wouldn't be the most popular phone if people didn't see value in owning it.

Either way, you decide.

Nice to know your fingerprint is yet another addition to databases all around the world.

notinmybackyard 10-10-2013 04:49 PM

I do not care if anyone calls me a "troll" or what they think of me. Because I have to say that there are some true fucking morons today to spend so much money on a telephone.

Does the telephone come with an application that makes you coffee in the morning and give you a blow job? Or is that extra?

seeric 10-10-2013 05:04 PM

you government goofballs are funny. gfy is infested with off the grid pervs. any citizen of the US has their fingerprints in several databases. jesus christ dont break the law and no one gives a shit about your fingerprints. fucking tin foil army. lol.

Doesn't really coast all that much if you wait till your contract is up or do an early contract update. Then sell the only one on ebay :) Ive never paid over 100 to upgrade to the newest one.

Relax, only suckers buy iphones from ebay. In most places you can pickup a brand new iphone 5 right from any Apple store. Plenty in store here in Montreal. But some places are back ordered or have limited quantities so smart people buy a few and sell them to idiots for 2-3 times retail price because they can't wait to get one.

Best way to get a new iphone is to order one online right from Apple or carrier or choice. No lines no headaches and you pay only retail.

Just checked wireless.att.com and it would appear they're not selling any off-contract phones. Pretty lame. There's only the "next plan" or the "2 year contract" option.

I still use my Nokia from 2002. Guess what ??? I have not paid to upgrade to the newest one in 11 years. Amazing when it rings and I put it to my ear I still hear the same old fashioned human voice of the caller.

So if you ask me what needs to be upgraded is not the telephones but the dummies that buy them.

Indeed, if it was a telephone only that would be ridiculous. But it isn't. It's a computer.

It's not a phone, it's a pocket sized computer that also can make phone calls

"I have a horse-drawn carriage that gets me from point A to point B, therefore anyone that owns and uses an automobile instead is an idiot"

See the problem with the above statement? :)

Like many in the thread have stated, buy and use whatever suits you the best. There is no law that states you must purchase an iPhone.

Live and let live. :winkwink:

And you know what I see people use this "pocket computer" for?

To surf Facebook, look up google maps, see a resturant review, etc

When I see someone tap their doctorial thesis, file their business returns, edit HD video, etc. Then it might actually be impressive. Until then it is just another gadget/toy.

You know we have all this "gadget garbage" and that is supposed to make business more efficient and profitable. But instead the economy is shit, everything breaks within 6 months of purchase, the average tech-addict is a young male (18-25) with errection problems, so-called developpers tend to be morbidly obeese and almost everyone under 30 is at best a functional idiot.

And to pay a few hundred bucks for something that can do all that is clearly something lots of people are happy to do.

And you don't want to. And that is fine.

Right, of course you're not going to type a thesis on there - equally you don't see many people trying to move house using a skateboard. You use devices for their intended use, although you can edit HD video just fine. But, and this is an important but, you were saying it was ridiculous to spend a few hundred bucks on a phone. We're trying to point out to you it isn't a phone. It's a small computer with a phone attached to it.

Indeed. And being able to read and answer email, update sites, send email marketing blasts etc on the go is very useful for me. If you don't want or need to do any of that, cool. Good for you!

No, they don't have the disposable income. No idea why you think people that like technology have erection problems nor what that has to do with smart phones.

Again, totally confused as to how smart phones are to blame for you thinking developers are fat and everyone under 30 is stupid.

Look, I get it. You don't want a smart phone. Groovy. But to say spending a few hundred bucks on a pocket computer is stupid, is, well, stupid.

By all means start a thread about how wonderful life is without a smartphone.

It's not a few hundred bucks, it's $100-200+ $50+ a month extra for data/texting.

Mickey_ 10-11-2013 08:20 PM

With all due respect, If you can't afford that in return for the added convenience (that helps advance your business), you're in the wrong business.

notinmybackyard 10-12-2013 04:28 PM

If all this junk and gadgets are such great business tools then why are the vast majority of "webkiddies" penniless ?

You know what is the best tool most membres of this forum have? It is the instant messenger.(skype/ICQ)

Because without it how many of on this site would be able to get their friends to bump their threads, support their lies and other assorted bullshit and use gossip and lies to keep potential clients/contacts from doing business with someone else?

But you know what??
If it was only the porn industry where the average shmuck was penniless and claiming to be a millionaire... I would just say "well that is the porn industry, lies and bullshit as usual"

Instead I see it every where and with moutains of *so-called-web-kiddie-professionals* that keep claiming that they are making thousands of dollars... Thousands earned by selling some new application, doing facebook marketing, etc. And they owe it all to these new "tools" which have revolutionized business.

I have been to several of these seminars/meetings/conventions etc. Half of them are held in venus like a public library or a resturant and the other half held in an acceptable venu demand an entrace fee. (It takes no genius to figure out who is making money in the later situation) But both venus appear to have in common a lot cheap economy cars in their parking lots and supposedly succesful people that are very happy to let me pay for the drinks while we talk business.

The biggest difference between business today and in my day is that those actually earning the money are far less and earn far more. And that there are an astounding number of suckers living just above the poverty line believing that they are a sucess story because they purchsed a Iphone or some other gadget.

If anyone truely wants to earn money... Then learn how to fill out an account spreadsheet, sign your own cheques and then figure out how to sell a bunch of suckers the rope that they will eventually hang themselves with.
