What type of site will you build?
Hello webmaster ninjas,
I am a newbie and I want to start a new site (domain that I am thinking of is generic, like pornheaven.com so that it can cover a few / multi niches). Would anyone can advise me what type of site should I build: TGP, Tube Sites, Forums or Directory? What is the good and bad? What's easier to get more traffic, monetize it and has better ROI? Thank you for any suggestion. |
Hi njnja. Pornheaven.com does not exist :)
TGP - NO Tube - Maybe Forum - Maybe Directory - NO, it takes too much time You can drive traffic to porn tube sites quite easily. |

You said NO to directory, but that is the nice one you are having in your sig :D |
Just build everything you can. Use subdomains and build sites from sunrise to sunset.

Yup the bigger you are the better. The more pages indexed the better etc.
|
Is better if you focus in a specific niche. General porn has a lot of competition, the tubes is what is hot at this time....
|
Specific doesnt necessarily mean only catering to 1 out of a million
|
i think Tube and Forums
|
Thank you for your suggestions. Looks like tube is the one I should go.
I understand about high competition in general porn but it is also in major niches isn't it? Maybe I'll need to find a small niche but it will be hard to get that big with lot of pages to be indexed. Haizzz! Anyone has both general and specific sites to make comparison? :D |
I like single domains with 15 installs of wordpress on subdomains for each niche. The surfer goes there and thinks he is on a his niche site but so does everyone else going to the other subdomains. The main index page looks like a search engine and will search all subdomains.

Is that worth to have sub domains / multi site vs. single site using categories? I understand sub domains can have different themes and have better reputation but require more setup and admin tasks. Are there better option of tube scripts instead of using Wordpress for building sub domain sites? |
you can use a single wordpress database for each subdomain just need to copy all the files in the original subdirectory of the first install of wordpress into the folder of the new subdomain. takes 5 minutes then a day or two to get your theme just right. keep an excell file of your passwords.

When you will decide what site to build - spend 1-3 days to read all about it, may be you will save several months of your work and decide to find another idea. People are working in this biz for years and all have problems, so if you come and decide to do something - for a long time will help you only to spend your time and money.
If you anyway want to start with something - try tubes. And good-luck for you! |
I would suggest you do some research into what areas have the least competition, what software you will use, what can be automated and what manual work you need to do. Then decide on how you get traffic, how you will optimise for the search engines and how to best service mobile traffic.
TGP / Tube- I would say yes if you can get a couple hundred thousand galleries in an automated way. I would avoid forums as they take a very long time to build a community. |

i mix tubes and tgp. Both works great for me. Just try something, cause one site won't make u rich:-)

Shoot your own content and find ways to sell it through different formats. Find the one that works for you!
