Why do republicans hate birth control?

I just read an article about the houses's newest bill that they hope will help reopen the government and avert default. In it they want two changes to Obamacare. One would bar anyone who works in the house, senate or white house from betting government subsidies to pay for their healthcare and the other would be to lift the new requirement that employers provide health insurance that covers birth control pills.

It seems like birth control pills are a big deal to some republicans, but they have problem with insurance paying for Viagra.

_Richard_ 10-15-2013 04:11 PM

the party funders don't have a stake in it?

Because they need more poor people to have children so they can bitch about welfare.

Someone should inform them that today's unwanted child could someday be climbing through their bedroom window years down the road.

LOL this actually, likely, isn't far from the truth. A friend said that insurance companies shouldn't have to pay for you to be able to have sex. I asked if they should have to pay for the baby that gets born when the mother has sex anyway and now gets pregnant.

Not having birth control leads to more unwanted pregnancies which leads to abortion which the GOP supposedly lists as enemy #1 and more kids born into poverty and into the system.

There are times that I think if it were legal many republicans would keep women as herd animals that they occasionally fucked then hunted for sport.

Rochard 10-15-2013 04:33 PM

Why would ANYONE oppose birth control? Ever?

I also don't get abortion rights people either. It's their choice, not yours.

The Republican Party is dying along with Americas white majority. This means the GOP will whore its self out to just about any group that can bring in the votes. This is why we see the retardness of the Religious Right always showing up in political matters. It's why we have neo cons starting wars and why we are subjected to the Tea Party and their dumb ideas and ignorance.

The GOP has whored its self out so much it's like a hooker looking for that next score..

I think if you are in DC you have an asshole the size of the grand canyon from the whoring. I agree the GOP are a bit more despicable. But not by much. :1orglaugh

It seems sometime ago they divided the retarded activities into Dims, domestic - GOPigs foreign. So we can get the full bang of the full on retarded government the US has now.

They know that. That's why they clutch their guns.

If they didn't have that, who would they look forward to shooting? :)

In all seriousness... it comes down to control. If you want people to control, it's best to keep them uneducated which is why they cut all education funding. It's also why they want you to be religious. It's why they want prayer in school. It's also why they want you to join the military. Because religious military people are followers, and they don't ask questions. That's what "having faith" is all about. And they don't want anyone aborting their unwanted offspring because those are their captive audience.

Once you have a lot of uneducated people who follow your religious rhetoric, they will elect you and you'll have the power to see all your social conservative dreams come true.

Yes.of course the left has its own wing nuts but they usually don't run the show as we see constantly happening with the right.. It's pretty fucking sad that in this day and age Neut Gingrich actually sounds moderate and sensible.. The right has drifted so far from the center it's about to fall over the edge.

I've never understood that either. I wonder what percentage of good Republican wife's vote Democrat when in the privacy of a voting booth.

I've never understood this either. For some reason republicans are insane about abortion and birth control. They are going way way out of their way to do it too by forcing planned parenthood locations to close (something like 16 in Texas alone), etc... its crazy.

Sarah_Jayne 10-15-2013 07:33 PM

Apparently, the availability of birth control makes all women whores.

GAMEFINEST 10-15-2013 07:45 PM

Well, being a woman you know how you are. If you take a birth control pill in the morning by noon you will be doing 20 man gang bangs in the office break room.:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

Yes +1 it's about control. And by controlling women's reproductive rights, they want to subjugate women and force them back into traditional roles.

Actually, this issue is being somewhat twisted. The real reason/issue is that there are organizations/employers that are religious based, that don't want to be forced by the government to pay for something that their religion forbids. It's really just that simple.

Personally; since it is the massive government intervention in mandating what insurance companies MUST cover, starting in the early 70s, that caused the huge upswing in costs of care in the US, I'm against ANY government mandates in coverage. Let the free market decide. If companies want to offer their employees an insurance that covers every single thing, and insurance companies want to sell them that kind of coverage, then let them go ahead. If a company does not want to offer that, for whatever reason, then that is their decision. If people don't want to work for that company, then they don't have to, etc.... Freedom. That's all.

The thing about this video is...you can call it anti-conservative. But its honestly not. It's the truth. Bob Dole would be a liberal in today's Republican party.

JockoHomo 10-16-2013 11:16 AM

Republicans are against birth control because they don't need it. Have you seen the average Republican politician's wife?

That IS the birth control - dog ugly boring bitches. They just don't fuck them. They tend to go for younger guys for that...usually escorts or in airport bathroom stalls.

And what happens in this 'free market' when no insurance company will insure people with a pre-existing medical condition? Those people are just shit out of luck?

And what about those who can't afford insurance? Again shit out luck? And what about children who are unlucky to be born into poverty?
