I feel like its going to be more over the top than the original. Hopefully its not all CGI crap.

oh, you have to report back, the original scared the crap out of me. i saw it in the theater when it first came out! no trailers to ruin it, it was unreal! like the exorcist, well, almost.

but they nailed the psychological thriller part of it, i hope this new one does too, because we all know the ending, so the rest needs to be really good.

:-)

didn't really like the original. has a remake ever been good? Has a horror movie for that matter?

They usually have a cool idea for a story but that's where it ends, then straight to the gore and things jumping out at you.

scarlettcontent 10-16-2013 02:18 PM

cant wait

I agree.
"Back when", noone really knew what to truly expect...so, as you said, a movie remake of something like this needs to be bad ass!
Hope so! :winkwink:

John Carpenter's remake of The Thing - way better than the 1951 original.

Mike_Teencash 10-17-2013 11:58 AM

Why is it so hard for them to think up something new...instead of remaking and screwing it up? Saw the evil dead remake recently...and it is so much worse than the original.

Mike_Teencash 10-17-2013 11:59 AM

However...Chloe Grace Moretz might be able to pull it off. She is pretty good.

The Friday the 13th remake is the highest grossing of all the horror remakes. And it's loved by most fans of the series.

brassmonkey 10-17-2013 12:12 PM

im getting tired of remakes. wish they did a sequel to conan :( watched it twice this morning.

i'm not easy to scare especially after seeing every horror flick ever made. but I will tell you what.....I screamed like a person being chased by a clown wielding a bloody knife throughout the movie The Conjuring. Hadn't seen anything that scared me like that since exorcist or Amityville originals when they were released.

candyflip 10-17-2013 01:00 PM

Is everyone forgetting that this is actually the 2nd remake of Carrie (not including the illegitimate "sequel" called 'The Rage: Carrie 2')?

It's been awhile since I've watched it, but I remember the first remake being pretty good, with Angela Bettis playing the lead character.

Looking it up on imdb, it was actually nominated for two awards, as well.

I don't remember it being made for tv, but...

Do you mean an old movie from 70s? Personally to me it wasn't scary at all. I'd say it was just boooooooooring :2 cents:
