Fabian and GFY - was it part of the problem.
Why did Fabian post on the boards, its not as though affiliates are part of the game plan.
Why did he so want to be accepted as the good guy. Why not just do what every other major company owner does and treat the boards for what they really are. Why did Fabian spend so much of his time arguing with Robbie and Markham et al to try and justify his companies policies. Was that the fatal error ? If he had kept quiet and curbed his desire for acceptance would he still be in charge at Manwin ? |
all the best to all the parties!

Fabians and ultimately Manwins downfall is coming from arrogance and rampant piracy and apparently money laundering, tax evasion, etc, etc, etc. |
I liked the fact he would post on the boards and could be easily contacted. Owner or not, he was approachable even if you didn't agree with him or his company ethics.
Rest assured, the new face of Manwin will not be so approachable or easy to contact. |
Maybe he thought or wanted to think that he was a good guy and not a thief.
|
I don't think it had anything to do with it in this case. Now I do think he at times might have said things which might work against him in certain other civil or criminal suits should they arise but that is different.
I think it was great to be able to see what was in his mind and ask him questions though. Whatever I think of Manwin I definitely respect him for doing that and usually he was very civil with it. In fact, figurehead or owner I honestly think we're worse off with Fabian away from Manwin. For all we know he was helping to prevent it from getting even worse with the piracy. |

fabian was a porn king and no i don't know the man more personally and i probably never will. if he has left manwin and is no longer the boss then more power to him. i want to let him know, in his case, he never needed to evade tax or launder money, i am sure he was already making more than enough to feed him at least.

No, seriously, hahahahahahahahaba |
I personally thought it was all very strange. He did not need the boards permission or acceptance to run the company, and had he/Manwin kept a low profile he would probably still be happily hoovering up the traffic and companies in this sector. I don't think anyone would suggest that this "buyout" was done because he wanted to leave at this moment. It was clearly forced upon him/them by other events.
I would never discuss the profitability or corporate and tax structure of any venture online. Telling the whole world how fabulously wealthy and brilliant you are, with no obvious source of that wealth, is never going to amuse the powers that be, never mind the people who have been fucked over on the way up. I mean come on - spending your day on GFY (an affiliate board) telling a massive group of disgruntled content producers and affiliates how you have destroyed their livelihoods and made millions in the process is never going to be received well. (ask JT) You can just imagine how many anonymous emails were fired off daily to the powers that be. |
