The Pirate here on GFY that got caught trying to sell his illegal tubes has tried to make amends by taking everything down and giving up the password to his file locker account. (filepost.com - which seems to have a running paypal account)

He had about 500 full length videos from several producers (some friends of mine too) and I went in and deleted them all and removed his account.

He claims he will never pirate again and he's trying to do the right thing. Which is probably true - or he could be full of shit, who knows...

His confidential personal info is on the other thread (which I won't bump because I personally don't think anyone should have their legal name and home address exposed on GFY)

He made a total of about $800 from his tubes (I saw the stats in his account) so I have emailed him suggesting that he make a donation to CopyControl (Stop File Lockers Project) for 800 bucks....and that if he does this - the GFY community might give him a break and let that thread with his personal info die. Which I think would be the right thing to do.

So far no response...

It is interesting to me that Fabian didnt get this kind of harsh criticism save from a few of us, I fail to see any real difference in the two.

The Stop File Lockers project was dying actually died a couple of weeks ago and I didn't hear a peep from you about that.

If you care about this industry as much as you claim to, then why don't you focus on some of the other serious problems facing it such as , I don't know, FILE LOCKERS!

Just this morning I am dealing with a site that has one producers whole archive of content in rars being shared from multiple blogs and forums. All sitting on dizzcloud.

I mean hell, some clown made a whopping $800 off of his failed attempt at piracy and out comes the gfy lynch mob ready to castrate him and hang out as crows meat; yet other real pirates have made MILLIONS, if not BILLIONS off of piracy and most of you still ask which hole of yours they want to shoot their load in.

Also, I don't know much about this AK guy but from what I've read, isn't he in debt for quite a lot of money? And you're expecting people to invest money into someone like this? Sorry but add that to the fact that the major players are seemingly doing fuck all to combat piracy, I'll stick to worrying about getting OUR content off sharing/torrent sites as best we can.

We're not a rich company, we make a very pretty penny for being 3 guys but we're not rich just the same, and when we see that those major companies aren't doing anything, the last thing I'm going to do is give some guy who is apparently pretty deep in debt my money because he claims to be doing something that seemingly no one else has been able or willing to do.

Maybe next time around someone in this lot will have the foresight to enlist the pirate into divulging any information he has on other pirates and pirate sites he knows of in exchange for absolution.

However, no longer being anonymous, said pirate is now at of risk being harrassed offline by other those other said pirates and now has less incentive to be of service in this manner.

I'd rather continue putting my money into keeping my companies content off of as many piracy sites as I can. Haven't been able to rely on or work with anyone in this industry for years to do shit, and that has not changed.

Just for the record, I'm in "cahoots" with nobody. Not one single person has placed demands on me to carry on the SFL project in any given direction.

As for debt, we didn't dig ourselves into debt, our funding was cut mid month without notice so we couldn't wind down. Had we known that our funding would be cut then we would have wound down, paid out what was owing and be even.

In any case, I have personally put my own money (lot's of it) not to mention free unpaid time into this project, so I have always carried liability.

It's important to me that facts aren't distorted with this kind of uninformed diatribe.

the guy did what anyone just coming into the industry would do, see what the most successful did (steal) and do the same. the industry has said for a long time that a much quicker way to the top is to lie cheat and steal.

I have to admit that this is correct. Since about 2011 the industry basically began openly condoning piracy. At least at the top levels. It was right around the time when Fabian did the keynote speech. Don't get me wrong it's always been there but this is about when the pirates openly came out and established themselves at the top.

Someone asked in another thread why the gay side of the industry is so different and why they go after pirates. Well the difference is that the people at the top of the straight side of the industry are almost all pirates or pirate sympathizers. Whereas on the gay side of things this isn't the case. The straight side of adult is now owned by the pirates.

I also contribute $100 monthly to AK and I have an in-house girl who works in my office for $15 bucks an hour that seeks and finds my pirated intellectual property online.
