?We were able to contact the driver quickly and are pleased that he is safe. This was a significant accident where the car was traveling at such a high speed that it smashed through a concrete wall and then hit a large tree, yet the driver walked away from the car with no permanent injury. He is appreciative of the safety and performance of the car and has asked if we can expedite delivery of his next Model S.?

Li-Ion batteries can burn too

So two cars catch fire and now the car is unsafe? Do you know how many car fires there are every day?

Let's think about it.

Batteries or GAS. Which one blows up easier.

how would an engine fire ignite a gas tank?

On one hand I want to see "Two cars caught fire, big deal" but on the other hand it's not like they are making sixty thousand of these cars every year.

At the same time... we don't have all of the details. For all we know it hit a propane tank or gas line.

Fat Panda 10-28-2013 11:34 AM

gasoline cars dont explode

That isn't the point. The point is.

What do you think is more dangerous when driving?

Battery or Gas?

IF you were to get in a bad car wreck? Simple logic

L-Pink 10-28-2013 11:40 AM

and i think the version that isn't backed by 100 years of trial and error would be the safe bet.

Smashed through a concrete barrier and then hit a tree. Driver walked away without major injuries. Seems pretty damn safe to me.
