Not really - the reason is that her parents had defective genes or smoked meth...probably both.

Nothing beyond that really...simple genetic fuckup, that's what she is.

I watched a tv special on this condition that she was on. There were 2 or 3 other cases in which the doctors could pinpoint why it happened but not in Brooke's case.
