Congrats to Democrats. You're fucking crushing it with health care. Figures just released!
Day one... total people successfully enrolled in Obama Care....
6 people. By the end of day 2... 248 total people. "The health care exchanges need to average 39,000 enrollees a day to meet the goal of seven million by March 1" Just 300,000,000 more to go!! Congrats to the winners.... :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh |
It should only take about 400 years to get everyone enrolled at this rate. :)

IF 60,000 people signed up (and that's a huge IF) then it cost us $11,000 per person for this website that is being redone.

There is no question however (as was testified before Congress), that it was well known to have not been anywhere near ready and basically untested at launch time. I would guess again, that is the problem with making it political. That said, spending that much money on a website is insane and then trying to launch it knowing the stakes without having a functioning site, having the user experience be so impossibly stupid and backwards by any measure and a perfect example of why government should not be deeply involved in or managing peoples own important life decisions. |

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/...r-health-plan/
“FACT: Nothing in #Obamacare forces people out of their health plans. No change is required unless insurance companies change existing plans.” – tweet by Obama aide Valerie Jarrett, Oct. 28, 2013, after NBC News airs a report that the Obama administration knew “millions” could not keep their health insurance. Many readers have asked us to step back into time and review these statements by the president now that it appears that as many as 2 million people may need to get a new insurance plan as the Affordable Care Act, a.k.a. Obamacare, goes into effect in 2014. As we were considering those requests, one of the president’s most senior advisers then tweeted a statement on the same issue that cried out for fact checking. I knew this shit was going to happen. I saw that Obama is still saying we can keep our policies? Did he ever talk to the insurance companies about this? |
It's not "2,000,000 people" that will lose their health care plans. It's the vast majority of insured Americans - that info was also just discovered to have been known by the administration at least in 2010 and was found in the federal register. The guy still, as always doesn't back down or accept responsibility for anything at all and that is why his supprt and poll numbers continue to plummet.

Yes, if your insurance fails to meet the basic requirements, you will have to upgrade. Oh my god that's horrible. |
Quote:
It's not "better coverage" it's retarded requirements like forcing a 62yr old grandmother to pay for maternity care among other idiotic items she will not only never need, but that wasn't previously paying for. |
Quote:
Basic requirements are to add like Pregnancy coverage for Every Female. Even 50+ year olds. Thus, when a Policy changes even one little bit, it can NOT be grandfathered in, and then most policies offered LOT higher and LESS Coverage. Basic requirements are not the same as "If you like it you can keep it" It's total BS and you know it. |

A canadian said this -
"I moved to Canada from the states thirteen years ago. THANK GOD! This whole discussion is bizarre to me now. A bunch of hapless liberals defending a program that shovels money to the corrupt insurance and pharmaceutical industries, debating a bunch of mean spirited right wingers who think they are conservatives but aren't, who believe no one should get anything at all that they can't grab with their own greedy hands." I love the part about the liberals who don't realize that this is simply forcing people to pay insurance companies and drug companies. They were the biggest donors to Elizabeth Warren's campaign. They WANT this because it makes them even richer. Somehow liberals imagine this is free universal healthcare. Unreal. Repubs, same as always, "God wants me to be poor unless he magics me rich so I can spend 5 trillion on unjustified wars". Take off your sports jerseys and think. http://www.latimes.com/business/hilt...#axzz2jRqa29Fm |
How come its ok to require people to buy car insurance, but not health insurance?care?

My wife is fifty, and still on birth control. We still fuck. And she can still have a baby. Sounds like a good idea to ensure her health coverage includes pregnancy. You know, "just in case". There are plans out there that do not cover hospital stays. That's not a healthcare plan, that's a joke. We need healthcare fixed. The Republican Party has made it clear it is no longer interested in serving the people, and the Republican Party has made it perfectly clear that all they intend to do is sit in the corner and cry. If Obamacare fails I'll blame on the Republicans for their lack of action. |

Hurting Millions, and when the waivers end in a year or 2, Millions more will be hurt. Multiple of Millions insurance is going up with LESS coverage, and STILL MILLIONS will be without insurance. You miss the point with mute one Wife situation. Point is it was BS that you can Keep your plan when they knew almost ALL plans would have to change. They shoved this down Americas throat on the Bleeding hearts of Millions are uninsured, not that people could get cheaper. While I am for the cheaper, many do not understand that they are less covered. Friend of mine says his is going down $150 a month. He is also going form 90% covered to 70%.. One big bill and that $150 is Gone. It is a Fking Scam, and now it is being seen as such even more every day. Many of the people signing up are for the FREE stuff. Millions WONT be able to signup due to to low of income. Millions being dropped, thus to only have to get More expensive plans, and can't wait to see this bleed out when the waivers run out.. The Millions / Billions spent could of paid the health care for those people and not went to an insurance companies pocket. It changes nothing in my state, as ANYONE could always go to the ER if you needed to. Well ok, I can't say nothing as a few who Already HAD Insurance Might get it cheaper, but on the Tax payers back.... So we are still paying for the Super Low Income and now the Low income with tax give backs, on the backs of millions of middle class who were barely getting by. I guess it is job security to drop them down a level for the Dem's |
i wish the right wing would realize that healthcare is incapable of being a free market commodity. health insurers & pharma are some of the most profitable corporations of any industry. & its so profitable for the same reason oil is so profitable; everybody needs it, & not many companies can supply it. everything about health care tends towards monopoly.
& the morality of "profits vs providing care" business model of insurers is simply unworkable. but liberal democrats do nothing but force the public to pay out the price gouging rates, but if you cant afford the gouging the government will pay the difference. Real bright idea. |

Saying this will "cost more" is stupid - It is going to cost more NO MATTER WHAT. We can do nothing and it will still cost more. Quote:

Thank goodness we have a National Health Service in the UK. Free at the point of use paid by everyone through taxation.
Human beings live together and therefore it is the health of the herd that is important. To keep everyone healthy safeguards us all. Good health slows infections and prevents disease. So even the rich bastards benefit from keeping the poor healthy. |

ACA cost me my doctor and I'm still uninsured.
My family doctor of more than a decade retired to only do research with all of this. Appeared to be less headache than re-training his staff or getting a new staff. Doctors pay an insane amount to get insurance companies to cough up what they owe. Part of the reason US healthcare is overpriced. |
