Fucking Webair

I should have listened when people told me not to use them...their support is a joke I'm talking to someone about a problem I'm having on my server which I'm pretty sure is from someone 'fixing' something last night and I'm getting responses from someone who obviously has no idea what they are doing.

I try calling the number and after putting in my user code it just takes me to the message about how to find the code. I try hitting 0 and they tell me their office hours are from 10-6...really? Why pretend to offer 24/7 support if the 24/7 support is someone who has no idea what they are doing?

The guy couldn't even find the folder I was talking about and told me it wasn't there as if I was an idiot.

So who is out there these days? I'm thinking of going with a more mainstream company like Hostgator but if anyone is out there that offers a dedicated or cloud server at $150 a month with like 3000gb bandwidth please let me know here or Skype me at MoeLoubani

Another Webair success story.

johnnyloadproductions 11-02-2013 03:01 AM

I used webair for about 8 months, didn't have any issues.

I just consolidated a couple projects onto a dedicated with another host I had.
Webair Danny was very professional and followed up with how I was doing.
Their support was nice and prompt if I needed it.

No issues.

<serious> my webair success story. </serious>

When 1 person doesn't have issues, doesn't mean 900 others do, what's so hard to understand about that?

Why are they still in business if they have so many problems?

It's a runaway bandwagon, everyone goes out of there way to go after them.

If things are of a concern enough for you, it's best to run non-critical items on their web services (galleries, feeder sites, blogs) and run your main gateways with a site that wants only to work with higher payer customers with only dedicated servers (mojohost, though I've never hosted with them).

Each host is geared different, and you should select accordingly.

ive been using them for a while as well but they have been gradually getting worse and worse and its at the point where their server guys have no idea what they are doing...i mean not being able to find a folder?

i remember when i could log on the live chat at any time and get someone that would help me with my problem and now its just some guy just saying random things that pop up on google hoping they would work

i explain my issues and i explain what i think it is and they dont even bother reading that and give me replies like 'im not sure what is causing that redirect' but dont actually look into whats causing the redirect, that is just the answer to the problem

i submitted an urgent ticket and 25 minutes later it is just pending! when i was starting with this stuff and was with the dreaded dreamhost they NEVER waited 25 minutes to reply to a ticket especially an urgent one, even pacificrack or quadranet or whatever they are called today wasnt as bad and i moved from them to webair

Pick your host accordingly.

Some hosts are geared toward handling fewer (higher paying) clients and have system admins on hand that know there stuff. That's why I'm guessing mojohost made the announcement that they'd cut all their vps accounts (when they did).
Hostgator scrapes the bottom of the barrel for customer reps, mainly because they cater to so many shared hosting users. Brent Oxley (is only 2 years older than I am) cashed out for 140+ million due to his user base.

Sure shop around, but find a good host and scale with them.

I signed up for webair when they were doing damage control last year, I was happy with them. Webair threads can be funny though.

Cyberwurx is running a special thru 11/9 (dedicated) for $154 / month, their package includes 2000gb bandwidth. I use CW and their CS is fast and efficient. I also use HG and Arvixe, IMO CW is the best of the ones I listed. (I'm just old skool and believe in spreading out my geoIP's). I used Webair in the past and posted my "success stories" here

moeloubani 11-02-2013 05:04 AM

finally found a guy on the phone that knew what he was doing but that live chat support person was just horrrrrible

When getting a new service first what you need to check is there any negative reviews, then check credibility of those reviews, and then not going with the service if negative reviews are valid.

Gerard. At Webair, always contact Gerard.

If you want low price... Webair

If you want the best service/support... NationalNet

www.way3.com small company but the support is top notch

[email protected]

moeloubani 11-02-2013 01:38 PM

Now they are telling me that the way to fix my server is to modify WordPress core files for each installation of WordPress I add.

Ughhhhh I wonder if they would accept me showing them how to edit their database to show my balances as 0 each time I have to pay my fees as a payment?

Best advice ever. Ive gone through tons of servers over the years... cost me a lot of money and headache.

Ask chris how fucked up my server was when he finally cleaned it all up.

Cyberwurx are very good, I was with them for years and the only reason I stopped was due to massive downscaling after the fucking panda.

scottybuzz 11-02-2013 04:05 PM

hahaha

webair suck so much ass you can smell them from here.

Gerard is slacking lately too. Been playing ICQ tag with him for 2 months now to talk about my server account. He used to be on anything I needed quickly. Not so much anymore.

SlammedMedia 11-02-2013 04:40 PM

Webair was a nightmare.

National Net has the best support ever.

I have never had an issue with Webair, their chat support is awesome and 24/7, they have helped me out many times all free of charge. The other day my WP install had a update issue, from the time i contact support via chat it took less than 15 minutes for them to locate and correct the problem.

sojproductions 11-03-2013 05:15 AM

I have quite a few clients with them, I used to recommend webair and move my clients to them when they would join me, to be fair it was mainly cost based as they do have good rates, but their service is just getting worse and worse, tickets sometimes are not answered for 48+ hours, that just isn't good enough even for the cheapest solution. I've stopped recommending my clients to them and now go elsewhere. I repeatedly asked them to try and improve as I wanted to work with them but they made up so many excuses. Their loss.

QFT, they always seem to be on the ball, and if a mistake is made you know they are doing everything they can to fix it asap.
