No, it doesn't shoot pellets, it shoots gas, so it's more or less like getting pepper sprayed. Of course, it?s a bit more dangerous and you can even get killed, but if I have to take a wild guess, it would take bigger caliber and much closer range plus really bad luck.

I vaguely remember this case, as I recall the gunman died years ago of old age in prison.
