A terror suspect, who escaped surveillance by changing into a burka at a mosque, was put on watch to "prevent his travel to support terrorism overseas".

Home Secretary Theresa May revealed the reason why Mohammed Ahmed Mohamed was placed on a Terrorism Prevention and Investigation Measure (Tpim) - restricting his movements - during questioning at the House of Commons.

Sky sources said the 27-year-old has connections with the Somalian terror group, al Shabaab, which was behind the attack on Westgate Mall in the Kenyan capital Nairobi on September 21 that killed at least 67 people.

Mohamed entered the An-Noor Masjid and Community Centre in Church Road, Acton, at 10am on Friday, wearing Western-style clothes.

But CCTV images issued by Scotland Yard later showed him leaving with his face and body fully covered by the traditional Islamic garment.




So that's another one on the run. Not the first time this has happened either. But we can't ban the burka, since it is against their human rights... Well done ! :thumbsup

I don't eat meat but I urge you all to check the next time you go shopping to see if your meat was killed the halal way. a lot of it is now but not advertised, just a small notice on the packet. now read up on how the animal was killed - how the UK allows this vile act is beyond me.

It's just something else the UK has "accepted" now. It's part of our wonderful multicultural society. So embrace it.

I'm sorry, but seeing someone who has their face covered in our society is just plain suspicious to us. Cover your body and your face, go to the mall, and yes, security will be watching you closely.

I saw someone at the mall a few weeks ago covered from head to toe, and I was somewhat offended. Why would anyone dress like that?

I went through Heathrow airport in September and I saw this too. I was a bit surprised that this was allowed. I guess if they have a firearm they'll find it.
