What's it like to live in Vegas? Condos are SO CHEAP there

This guy bought a nice 1 bedroom condo in Vegas for $40,000.
It’s 750 square feet with one bedroom and one bathroom.

I never been to Vegas

Vegas is a nice place to visit but I wouldn't wanna live there.

fitzmulti 11-04-2013 02:07 PM

I've lived here a long time, 12 years, and I like it. ;-)
Not "all" places are $40,000 don't be fooled...and location is important, too! :P

Rooms on the strip in average hotels are are around the same rate per night. What am I missing? Is this for people who don't want to be on the strip but need to be in Vegas?

NaughtyRob 11-04-2013 02:38 PM

Nope not really that good of an area. Very old area in central Las Vegas but the good thing is that its very close to UNLV in fact, within walking distance so it would be very easy to rent out to students.

What if you are a family of 3-4? You would probably pay more for quadruple room. On top of that in apartment you can cook your food for example.

Thats true. But in his case you get a whole kitchen, living room,. double the size of a hotel room. Plus tennis and jacuzzi although the hot tub didnt look at fabulous

I would definitely consider a move there - if there is work.. I tried looking around there before and it was depressed to say the least - very hard to jump in.

Bigger rooms (for 4 people) should cost more than small rooms for 1-2 people.

Now you're comparing apples to oranges, do you normally cram 4 people from your family in a 1 bedroom condo?

I was merely saying that this condo has more space than hotel room meaning its not the same.

Seth Manson 11-04-2013 06:58 PM

Where do you live now and how big is your house? Maybe I'll trade you.
