A new brewery in the LA area contacted me and asked me to review their new website. Imagine my surprise when I discovered he was using my photos (after removing watermark).

How would you handle it (site is "under construction")?

Tell them that it's awful and that you can fix it for $100. Then just change the images.. :winkwink:

haha - He wants to create a brown ale and call it Lloyd Brown Ale with my face on it. The thing is he wants me to help develop the recipe and brown ales are not really my thing.

Is he doing it intentionally? Remember, some people aren't as bright as they appear. He may just think its fair game.

Why not confront him, tell him what he did isn't legal and needs to give you credit for those pictures on the site.

If you want to get into the beer scene with real people who are growing a beer business... hit me up. Just might suprise you.

He knows those are your pics and you know that he knows. Cut a deal and do the beer. All you're gonna do is recipe it to your tastes anyway. Who knows, it might take off.
But... have him put 'King' on the label somewhere

That's what happened; I did not say it wasn't legal but I did explain that if he did not own the other photos he should remove them. He removed mine and put up a button and link to my site.

He had good taste, the photo he used is pretty relevant to the LA craft beer scene, but not really for how he was using it. He just meant it as a placeholder.

Turns out he has already listed the beer on his list of future beers.
