Do heatboxes still exist.. The ones that heat a house?
 

Many many years ago I saw a heat box that heated a whole house.. It was a firebox with another bigger box around it and air was forced through the outer chamber some way .... the guy who had it spoke on "creating a natural draw"

look up rocket stoves. they put out a shit load of heat and you can make them yourself.

That is not a very efficient way of utilizing the wood you burn. Shit has happened in the last 30 years. Look up convection fireplace or whatever they are called.

My parents heat their home with a wood burner, looks way fucking better than that ghetto thing though, lol. They run ceiling fans to move the heat around, it gets a little intense in the living room but most of the house stays pretty warm. Costs them ~300 for an entire winter of wood versus ~900 in gas to keep their furnace going.

Really? How lame. Then again, in my country they are putting some kind of tax on the wood from next year. Fuckers.
