Will I be happy?

kacy 11-21-2013 11:25 AM

Yes, but I'm bias ;)

Seriously though, welcome aboard. Please contact me if I can ever personally assist you.

Rumbledog 11-21-2013 11:29 AM

Yes Certified Hosting is one of the very best. Good choice.

I didn't grind my Dedicated to the metal with them, but as you can see they have an owner that cares about PR by being the 2nd to reply to your thread.

Kacy talked to me personally (if was needed) and I would return to them if I thought of getting another dedicated again.
I'm sure you'll be pleased with their support and what they can do for you.

Question..

My general practice is to build new sites on cheap shared hosting and then move them to more robust hosting once they're built (either dedicated or shared dedicated).. Do you guys help with the migration once I'm ready to do so?

This is certainly a good sign. I did a little bit of research on GFY and other places before opening an account and found a lot of happy customers.

I started with a cheap shared hosting solution, but if this goes as expected I will be moving each of my 60+ sites to a dedicated platform.. with them.

I just got the account setup email and got the email settings. Do you guys have a webmail solution? No biggie if you don't.. I'll just install a client. Just find webmail a little more convenient sometimes. If you do.. what's the url to login to it?

Edit: Nevermind.. I found it!

CarlosTheGaucho 11-21-2013 12:27 PM

Been with Certified since 2010 - the price vs. what you get ratio is great (about 95 pct. more than I'll ever need!), the interface is pretty much intuitive and the very few requests I ever had were handled in a timely and utmost professional manner. So all I can give is :thumbsup

NaughtyRob 11-21-2013 12:37 PM

I just switched to them too. We shall see.

Yes, and I am NOT biased...LOL!
After several years of indecision, I finally did about 3 years ago, and...I was mad at myself for not doing it, before!
LOVE'EM...just recommended NaughtyRob move to them, as well, which he did!
;-)

Just out of curiosity, you guys are charging an additional $370 per month for 128GB ram... $1,090 per month for 256GB?

That is insane...

freecartoonporn 11-21-2013 09:46 PM

kacy 11-21-2013 09:59 PM

That does seem insane huh ? At least we got you lookin ' ;) lets negotiate?

Before we could negotiate, the prices on your ram would have to be brought down so it doesn't cost more than an entire box with my current host. You'd also need to offer 512GB-1TB SSD drives as opposed to 256GB only.

I mostly like the rest of your pricing though, and please don't think I'm trying to flame, I just find $1,090 a month for ram to be insane because most of the ram hosting companies use doesn't even cost that much to buy outright.

I'm open for discussion though, so to give you an idea of what I'm looking for, here's one of my current boxes:

Supermicro X8DTU-F Intel 5520 DP
1GBPS uplink @ 10TB/mo bandwidth (upgradeable at $4 per 1TB)

The above costs us $837.50/mo (we host 9 servers with them at present so we get pretty crazy discounts)

The obvious areas we'd like to upgrade is ram and bandwidth, both of which we can do with our current host, max ram with them though is 128GB.

Far-L 11-22-2013 02:34 AM

Worked with them on and off for years and can definitely say they are super solid.:2 cents::thumbsup

Emil 11-22-2013 03:24 AM

I've had 2 problems with them.

1: Their cache-system sucks. If I post a WP-post for example and decide to hange anything in it it will take a couple of minutes before the canges show up on the site.

2:They did suspend my account for RECEIVING spam, not sending...

Nice prices where is that? (PM me please so we don't highjack the thread).

DWB 11-22-2013 07:03 AM

I had a box with them for a long time. Excellent company and service. The ONLY reason I left was because (this was several years ago) at that time they didn't have the streaming capability that we wanted. I'm sure they are well up to speed now.

kacy 11-22-2013 07:43 AM

Yes, we do have a caching system on our shared servers, which you can opt out of by request.

For receiving spam? Sounds odd, but would love to check it out if you want send me your account info, thanks!

No, all servers are unmanaged. The option is available for $80/mo per box though, but the only support I really need from my host is hardware and [physical] network.

One thing I'd really like to have for our setup that our host doesn't offer at this time is load balancing; do you guys offer this?

Yes, you have been. I remember being introduce to you back in 1999 by the guy from Ultravid.

Paully 11-22-2013 08:54 PM

Certified kicks ass. Only suggestions would be to offer Euro hosting and a CDN. Other than that they're golden.

kacy 11-23-2013 10:15 AM

Okay, the pricing make more sense then. We generally provide fully managed services, but we can be hands off of course.

Yes, we can provide load balancing. Please contact me with your info so that we can discuss further :)

Thanks Paully! We actually do provide CDN starting at only $40/mo
Let me know if you need more info about it :)

linkspun pages are load in 5 sec ,its really annoying in 2013 year. Maybe its time to move on from 10 bucks monthly hosting perhaps to a VPS ?
